From everything I’ve ever read on the topic, no, this is an internet age myth. The “snakes driven from the island” myth is dated hundreds of years before the real person Saint Patrick existed and was just later attributed to him.
In the legend of St Maughold’s conversion, Patrick appears to have a man straight up die so that Patrick can resurrect him all just to turn a practical joke back on the jokers
(Disclaimer: it never says Patrick kills him. He just happens to actually die)
Note: “Saint” patrick driving out all of the “Snakes” means that him and his goons scared off or killed everyone who wasnt Christian.
The “snakes” is allegorical.
