themakara@lemmy.worldto Gaming@lemmy.ml•A game, or series of, you believe belongs in a museum?1·4 days agoLooking at it from a general perspective that has less to do with games themselves; I would say huge parts of the Assassins Creed games due to the accuracy they often have had with depicting historic architecture and such.
Heck, they used the games model of the Notre Dame in its reconstruction.EDIT: [So I just looked this up and apparently it’s just a nice story that has stuck. But the actual model was never used.]From a more game-focused perspective, there are some real gems in there too (especially the Ezio-Series). Tho that quality has sadly not kept.

E-Bike Riders Get Criminal Court SummonsesEnglish13·4 days agoHe used to live in NYC, had an E-Bike and repeatedly posted videos about the out of control bureaucracy eating the city from within.
He has since moved to Texas, but NYC has haunted him for quite a while.
Edit: It’s an in-joke about his exasperation and temper relating to NYC and it’s weird double standards in legislation.

Sub is still the better IMHO, but dubs are no longer something you have to actively tolerate.
My experience with the function is limited, but I think it’s decent. Markdown support, import from websites etc. If you add the items to the recipe with their amounts and then write them out in the text it automatically give you the amount you need based on the portions specified.
On app.kitchenowl.org you can create a demo-user and household. Within that, you can try the recipe function. Sign up requires a mail-address, but it does not need to be a valid one.
- Paperless if you want to keep your digital documents organized.
- Jellyfin/Navidrome for music streaming if you have a collection.
- AudiobookShelf for streaming & tracking progress of audoobooks if you have a collection.
- Kitchenowl for organizing your household (expenses, shopping lists, recipes, planning meals)
- FreshRSS for RSS-Feeds (News, Blogs etc)
- LinkDing for Bookmark Management
- Game-Servers (like Minecraft or others)
EDIT:Added Linkding & GameServers
What’s probably even more confusing is when the quiet turns loud suddenly because the topic has shifted to something interesting.

Not on the go, but you can use your own DDNS/VPN & Jellyfin for that instead of Plex
Yes and no. A lot of sorting and optimizing processes can be done via scripts. For example, I had chatgpt generate one that finds audio streams in videos that are not in the language I need. Manual verification and then let another script remove the remaining lists streams that I don’t need.

Why would I need to look into this particular tool right now? I don’t need it and it has no real relevance to what I was saying either.
themakara@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Advice on moving my Spotify library to NavidromeEnglish73·2 months agoIn my experience, most of these tools usually only search the equivalent song on YouTube ans download it from there. Which can cause some trouble when the algorithm finds some cover etc instead of the original thing. Plus the lossless issue. For me personally, it was easier to just get the better version outright instead of upgrading afterwards.

But it’s a bad RPG. Too many mechanical downgrades from 3 & New Vegas, and the writing is mostly meh.
To be fair, the game’s rated 18+ in the UK. In terms of the law, this probably doesn’t suffice. But theoretically, there still is a kind of age-check in place :'D
