Ignotum@lemmy.worldto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•I wonder if this was made by AI or a shit programmer85·13 days agoI remember when a senior developer where i worked was tired of connecting to the servers to check its configuration, so they added a public facing rest endpoint that just dumped the entire active config, including credentials and secrets
That was a smaller slip-up than exposing a database like that (he just forgot that the config contained secrets) but still funny that it happened
He turned himself into a skateboard, funniest thing I’ve ever seen, he’s skateboard-rick
Smaller models still struggle with it, and the large models did too like a year ago
It has to do with the fact that the model doesn’t “read” individual letters, but groups of letters, so it’s less straight forward to count letters
To common people perhaps, but never in the field itself, much simpler and dumber systems than LLMs were still called AI
