Given the absolute need for protection (remember that if Weinstein sent Israeli surveillance to disrupt publications and defraud and further terrorise his victims, who knows what someone in the position of Trump would do) I wouldn’t blame her for using an alias image as well.

Even the feared Mongols fell out of fashion.English2·2 days agoI was confused about this etymology since I was a kid. I was taught there was one race - the human race - referring to the species. Oh well. Language gets misunderstood, learning it gets half-baked, it’s misused and finally transformed over time. Whether it’s wrong or stupid is neither here nor there, I suppose.
Sorry, at the moment I can only get numbers of their games, and that between now and last December itch.io have many less games. They have 1,200 less games tagged LGBT, and 1,000 less NSFW games tagged LGBT (separately categorised as far as I can tell)

Unfortunately not enough is being done to overhaul how we all live and grow in population, and this is definitely one of the critical issues that drive us toward an unstable crescendo of unsustainability. Well said!

For that reason I’m extremely happy to pay this much and have access to handpicking server locations
Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Canada says it plans to recognize Palestine as a state, joining the U.K. and FranceEnglish19·4 days agoDisclaimer: am not smart
Well, apart from a meaningless political song and dance, my theory is that it’s more of an announcement that they’re willing to oppose Israel by recognising Palestine, something the Netanyahu’s administration do not want. Partially because Israel has spent the last 77 years of its existence telling its people that what we see as Palestine is, in fact, all Israel, and always has been.
The countries are too fucking weak to stop the cruelty or say no to Israel, and this is the best they can do. It’s essentially the governments saying they’ll step up, and looking around to see if the other classmates look like they’re also going to, so they won’t be alone. As if Israel is a Goliath.

Updates are objective changes and optional, right?? They’d never force updates so the product people bought becomes less like what they chose and more like a curated, restricted, leased item…

Imagine a couple billion international people being told they can’t have nice things or freedom by a thousand extremely conservative people from one country. This whole thing is a joke, but if it’s any consolation the people will always fight back. We will always find a way to reject the doctrine of some buffoons. Chances are some people are already compiling a catalogue of every game removed from Steam in order for them to be available. The most low-effort controversial titles may not be much of a loss, but everything following them will be.
Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Games@lemmy.world•Payment Processors Are Pressuring Major Gaming Vendors to Pull LGBTQ+ and NSFW TitlesEnglish815·5 days agoClickbait doesn’t explain properly - the reason queer games were removed from Itch.io is because (and this is another issue) they were one of many media hosters who labeled anything LGBTQ+ as NSFW. The tag itself gets improperly used but anyway. They were still banning under 18s from learning and experiencing diverse life. Romance ≠ sexuality ≠ identity but some people don’t understand that.
Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube will start using your view history to guess if you're an adultEnglish43·6 days agoThere are many reasons why mentally mature people also find an interest in content designed for immature minds. The first of which that I can list, in regards to bronies and pegasisters being fans of My Little Pony, especially Generation 4, is:
- That kids shows are chock full of moral lessons that everyone can benefit from.
- MLP may have more compelling drama plots per episode compared to ‘adult’ soap operas.
- The desire for a fantastical escape from a world that’s becoming increasingly negative.
- Psychologically I suspect the characters or settings were very relatable, perhaps in terms of innate desire to:
- Fit in (Twilight)
- Be happier and less depressed (Pinkie)
- Be useful to society/have a loving family (Applejack)
- Be peaceful/coexist with animals (Fluttershy)
- Be popular/cool/more confident (Rainbow)
- Have self-pride/be helpful to friends (Rarity)
- The fantastical idea that conflicts can be solved with love, not war.
- Many animations are often designed with references or jokes that only adults would know, and keep them entertained. For example, how many children would recognise Dashie’s morning wing-boner as anything of note, or that one episode was a parody of Murder on the Orient Express?
Either way, something relatively unique and wonderful happened with MLP:FiM.
Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube will start using your view history to guess if you're an adultEnglish1·6 days agoMakes sense, as all services I’ve encountered that mention age in regards to data collecting imply that it’s illegal to harvest those under 13. Mobile games and other services would not harvest data if you state your age as well below 13, but the increasingly vast majority just say “we will be harvesting you; by clicking this button or making an account you confirm that you are over 13 years of age…” Because, you know, real child protection laws are in effect.
Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube will start using your view history to guess if you're an adultEnglish2·6 days agoMaybe, maybe not. I recently watched a mini-documentary featuring N64 Tetris tournaments at CTWC (The First Perfect Game of Tetris Just Happened) - this story is of a professional Tetris player who “beat” the game in 2023, aged 13.

There are no images of this on the site. Aside from sex toys or armwear I have no clue what this could be. Searching it hasn’t clarified anything. Does anyone here know what an O-sleeve is? Is it something O shaped?
Edit: the only thing I can find related to sleeves and discs are these, but this’d be weird to include…
Many places like itch.io blanket tag LGBT under NSFW, so it’s already affected. Despite sexuality, existence and personality not being taboo
