Depends on the country you’re from, not an issue in Australia for example
Cypher@lemmy.worldto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Cutting Out the Middleman (by Jen Sorensen)2·2 days agoUnfortunately my government is also stupid about this and they’re going to raise my registration costs every year to get me to replace the car I drive under 5,000km annually with an electric car.
It would take driving my little car another 60 years at this rate to produce as much pollution as building a new electric car that won’t last 10.

Cypher@lemmy.worldto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Cutting Out the Middleman (by Jen Sorensen)10·3 days agoMy favourite cars to own were made between 2003 to 2011. They’re so peaceful to drive compared to modern cars that constantly fucking screech and ding at you just for starting the damn thing.
How dare you make me start thinking about how to best connect my two rain water tanks to my house.
This will consume at least 5 minutes of good pondering time! I hope you’re happy

Compared to the EU? Weaker than a communist economy
There’s nothing hateful about putting my family, community and country first.
Maybe more people would enjoy better living standards if they did the same.

Edit: I can only assume the one hater doesn’t lift
I won’t be giving up anything so someone in a country I have zero responsibility for can have something they, their people and their government didn’t earn.
Their problem, they can fix it. Or not. I really don’t give a shit.

Cypher@lemmy.worldto Australian Politics@aussie.zone•Report into NSW strip searches last decade. 1.5% of strip searches resulting in any sort of conviction above possession. 82.4k strip searches performed.9·7 days agoNever forget that Australian cops constantly ask for new powers with the express goal of turning Australia into a police state.
Police are always the first to throw in with the fascists because they are the fascists. You only need to look at how they treat climate protesters vs how they treat literal nazi protesters.
Funny but I think we can narrow it down a bit
Really? What religion do most of these terrorists follow?

The community size is likely more a reflection of the fact that .ml is defederated by many instances and blocked by a large number of users.

Cypher@lemmy.worldto Australia@aussie.zone•The ATO was warned its systems were lacking, then scammers stole $2bEnglish7·9 days agoit (ATO) also downgraded its assessment of external fraud risks from “severe” to “low” two months before the scam took off in mid-2021.
I can guarantee I know how this happened. Some pube thought they needed to remove all ‘severe’ risks from a risk register and made some idiotic claims that no one dared speak out against.
There’s a reason mammals have evolved into ant eaters at least 12 different times and it’s not because ants are bad food.
High in protein, plentiful and tasty. A good bit of bush tucker.
