He SAYS he has it, but he’s a massive liar. He may have it, or he may not have it, but if his word is all the evidence we have, then we have no evidence at all.

I don’t know what you intended to link to, but this just links to an image search results page with a random assortment of seemingly unrelated results
Yeah I’m confused about what that word means here. Given the “lesbian” part of it I was thinking maybe it meant married? Started dating? Had sex with?
Beacon@fedia.ioto vegan@lemmy.world•Does anyone ever feel guilty or weird eating plant-based meat? Or, do other people judge you for it and how do you respond?1·8 hours agoThat is a very rare opinion. It does happen, I’m not saying it doesn’t, but it is very uncommon. People may say it to you as some sort of gotcha in their attempt to deflect from examining their own actions, but it isn’t a sincerely held belief by almost anyone. Eat what you want, and blow off any nonsense that haters spout.
And I’m saying this as an omnivore, so no one can say I’m coming from a defensive position or being uninformed about what meat eaters think
Beacon@fedia.ioto Ask Science@lemmy.world•If Aliens came to Earth, would we not have as much of a language chellenge as they would do with us? Also like in Mars Attacks how would we know that we aren't saying lets go to War?1·9 hours agoOctopus in the right circumstances could literally break your arm with the force they generate. And tentacles could easily swing an axe. And they could easily twist bolts, in fact there are videos of them doing that type of thing on youtube. And there are tons of land mammals that have prehensile limbs, like elephants, monkeys, etc. I’m not sure what information you’re using to mentally model what tentacles can do, but it’s quite inaccurate

Also like in Mars Attacks how would we know that we aren't saying lets go to War?71·13 hours agoYour arguments aren’t based on anything, and are clearly biased toward your own image. Even just limiting ourselves to known earth-forms, from an objective standpoint the octopus form seems at least as well suited to tool use. 8 limbs that can work fully independently on 8 different tasks, AND can be used in synchrony to work on a single task, AND have been shown to do extremely fine manipulation of small objects, AND has suckers all along the length of each limb that can be controlled in precise segments, AND has full continuous deformablity in every direction rather than a very small number of joints that only operate in a single degree of motion. It’s really no contest, the octopus form is superior

Also like in Mars Attacks how would we know that we aren't saying lets go to War?21·13 hours agoUm, yes it is. This is a very well known general truism. Destruction is almost always easier than creation. For example which do you think is easier, painting a complex painting, or destroying a complex painting?
Great write up! There were a small number of items in the descriptions that I didn’t know what they were, for example RNG and Eurojank
And you listen to them to figure out what’s correct and what isn’t?
I don’t know who gave you that idea, but it’s incorrect

Beacon@fedia.ioto Android@lemdro.id•Poll: Which abandoned Android phone features do you miss the most?11·2 days agoTo me it sounded like the main distinction they were trying to make was a dedicated fingerprint reader button rather than an in-screen finger print reader. This is a common preference because the hardware scanner you can activate by touch without working about proper placement, whereas the in-screen readers you have to look at the screen and carefully put your finger just in the on-screen circle showing where you have to precisely place your finger
Beacon@fedia.ioto TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•Yes, you should be in bed.72·2 days agoI could never get into Voyager, everyone is so unenjoyable to watch. Janeway is gruff and gravel throated, nelix is annoying, the Vulcan is portrayed as so ultra Vulcan that he’s boring, the holographic doctor is like the 1950’s idea of what a robot would be like, etc

Or that forum can just respect the guidelines of Lemmy private/public settings.
And I’m no more worked up about this than you are.

That has been asked and answered 50 times already. Also, don’t be an asshole. Most people here have been talking about the topic, not making snide remarks

I said that the way forums work is that if you set your community to appear in All, then that community is supposed to be for all
Aw this is a cute one
