I’ll just compromise national security for a couple of bucks.
Casual treason as a second gig.
Damn lucky guy, here I was doing it for free! /s
El-Hakim said he had been lured into the scheme by a person who went by “AI WORLD” on the social media platform Telegram, according to the affidavit signed by police officers.
…
El-Hakim told the bank he was creating fake bank profiles and obtaining lines of credit at the request of the person he was talking to on Telegram, the court document shows.
The affidavit said the accused also looked at banking profiles at the account’s request; it shows he accessed Carney and Trudeau’s profiles on June 17.
…
El-Hakim said he received $500 each time he completed a request, earning a total of about $5,000.
Probably beats the 0.004 cents RBC would give them each time they asked Carney if he wanted a new home equity line of credit, or that they noticed that his transaction numbers would make him a prime candidate for the “Sock it to Me” plan.
Carney could use this as a teachable moment to maybe admit that just like the rest of us, these god damn banks are taking total advantage of all of us with complete indemnity, and compromising all of our financial security for unabashed and rampant financial gain. Just another regular old day down at the ol’ ArrrrrrBe-C if you ask me.
That’s shockingly low amounts of money for what is obviously criminal behaviour that will be logged by your employer
Agreed. And it’ll probably make the kid unemployable until he changes his name.
Criminal records follow name changes so their likelihood of employability would not change.
Name changes doesn’t give anyone a free pass.
I wasn’t talking about record checks, I’m referring to googling a potential employee’s name.
I just blocked a AI WORLD message that said something about RBC on WhatsApp last week.
Court documents show that El-Hakim also accessed a banking profile for a Justin Trudeau. The RCMP later confirmed it was not the profile of the former prime minister.
Emphasis mine. Damn, what a way to fuck up your life…

I have a hard time imagining someone this stupid having much chance of a good life.
I don’t know if you’ve been in a bank branch the past decade or so, but it’s on par with the level of competence I’ve witnessed in the majority of visits. I hate going to the bank.
When I worked at Blockbuster Video way, way, way back in the day I used to look up celebrities and politicians accounts. All the BBVs were connected to a DB that had everyones account therefore if you visited from somewhere else you could still get access to your account for renting even if you didn’t have your membership card.
Was kinda disappointing…famous people either really didn’t rent much or just watched the same shit as everyone else.
What did you expect?
