Used to tell my partner I wish I was gay to teach my parents a lesson in empathy… Wow did that backfire being trans & gay

It does suck compared to being content with our gender without any additional effort. Having to inject myself every week and be extra worried about not performing my gender is a pain. On top of that base level of fuckery, we need to deal with assholes who will do everything from torture to murder if we’re born at the wrong place and time. It often feels like we’re set up to fail and suffer; at least more than everyone else.

However, even though we never asked for this shit, we have no choice but to live our lives as best we can. Eggs use the fact that being trans sucks to not transition, even when transitioning will be way easier than living with dysphoria. Even if I get sent to a concentration camp in the near future as a result of transitioning, getting to live as myself for a few years was far better than a lifetime of how I was living before.

We can take our unique perspective as a consolation prize; being more critical of belief systems has helped me a ton.
