Savory oatmeal sounds awesome
Coming from the US, I always saw it as a (typically-sweetened) breakfast food. Bought it and my wife mixes in canned tuna, dashi, and some other stuff for a meal. She laughed at my expression and it was indeed tasty.
I am interested to the point I will be searching up recipes. This meal however looks like an abomination of “I need to get my macros” lol
Steel cut oats are more rice like than the squashed ones.
They need about 40 minutes to get tender on the stovetop. I like to dump in frozen mixed vegetables, spinach, onions, garlic, mushroom stock and fish sauce, sardines, tvp or soy curls or quorn.
I actually love this i eat it most days. helped my me cut my cholesterol dramatically.
