With unencrypted DNS it’s dead easy to redirect to your own resolver. In fact, if you’re trying to enforce DoT or DoH on your LAN it can be good practice to do this to ensure that rogue applications aren’t bypassing your resolver.

I don’t think ISPs really do this though currently.

Fun unrelated backstory: I found a website that resolves DNS records using 1.1.1.1 over DoH in JavaScript. I had to flat out block connections to 1.1.1.1.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s empty but it’s pretty much just a bunch of facts we already know.

I think it’s done more for virtualization than anything else. I know that emulating Windows 95 is a huge pain because I can’t just download things from within the VM.

I do not miss serving people and the first thing they bark out is “can I get more ranch dressing?” Bitch you sure can but maybe order it ahead of time, now I have to make an entire additional trip just for you.

I pay for Apple News. I really don’t know why everyone acts like it doesn’t exist (specifically Apple users). The UI is much better than the shit hole websites anyway.

I use Apple’s Mail on iOS and macOS that block external assets by default. But I also block all that trash via DNS too. I use Blocky loaded with tons of blocklists.

A creditor and some other random company have done that.
