It reminded me that if you browsed Reddit from Spain many of the ads were literal scams, like the typical fake photo of a celebrity or even the Spanish king recommending you to invest in a very fishy crypto platform.

Spanish users were complaining and reporting these ads for months but last time I checked these ads were still running.

The conclusion is that Reddit didn’t even check who is running the ads and with what purpose as long as they pay them, and of course they don’t give a crap if their users get scammed.

  • On a note regarding relationship advice, that’s so fucking true and I was always being downvoted there for pointing that out. I wonder how many relationships got broken because of Reddit’s advice on some of the minor and normal relationship problems that could be solved by talking it out instead of “that’s a red flag just dump them bro”.

  • Their marketing strategy isn’t just blaming the consumer, it is to sell that their product is “sustainable and green”, and people instead of not buying, they buy their “sustainable and green” product that shouldn’t even exist in the first place. So no, they are not wasting money on marketing, they just changed the strategy.

Coming back to people, have you tried convince someone to change their preferred message app even knowing that belongs to an evil company and making the change being a literal 5 minute task?

In my experience people aren’t even trying. Just blaming the same way companies and politicians do. If we really tried our best many things would have changed already. I believe that everything we have now is just a mirror of our collective greed, and we are doomed if we expect the other (companies and politicians) to change anything.
