It would probably be something crazy like “Sarah” or “Jim”.

Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Games@lemmy.world•Old gamers don't understand what mobile gaming has becomeEnglish18·1 month agoIt’s absolutely not the same thing. I used to play a lot as a kid (still do) and I have no problem with today’s kids doing the same. But I want them to be able to enjoy games without constantly being manipulated into spending as much money as possible.
And it’s not just about kids either, I think these predatory tactics affect adults too.
It’s not a moral panic, the problem is capitalism.
Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Transfem@lemmy.blahaj.zone•vaginoplasty challenges & solutionsEnglish3·1 month agoThanks for the detailed explanation, these are very personal and intimate experiences and I appreciate it a lot when people like yourself share them to help others! 💜
For me I can even get nervous about getting IBS, and that can make my IBS more likely.
Yep, I do that too, it’s very frustrating.
I do think my IBS is better now too with estrogen and especially because my mental health has improved generally. I suspect that it got worse again recently as a side effect of the ADHD medication I was testing (methylphenidate/Concerta). Can’t know for sure of course since correlation does not imply causation, but it has improved after switching to Elvanse/lisdexamfetamine (still titrating though).

Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Transfem@lemmy.blahaj.zone•vaginoplasty challenges & solutionsEnglish3·1 month agoI probably won’t have mine for at least 1-2 years but this is very helpful, thanks! I’ve got my first appointment next week :3
The “bleeding from toilet use” section is bad news for me as an IBS girlie, I should probably work on improving my diet more before the surgery 😬
Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto News@lemmy.world•Mamdani poised to win New York mayoral primary as Cuomo concedes ahead of ranked-choice count4·1 month agoYeah same, I’m on another continent but it’s great to see good news out of America for once. I’m happy for New Yorkers!
Not me, I eat microwaved spaghetti at a table.
Funnily enough this seems to be worse for me now that I’m medicated. I used to eat when I couldn’t focus on work or when I was frustrated in general. Now I actually have the energy to do stuff again and I forget to eat way more easily. The meds also reduce my appetite which isn’t helping.
I can assure you that I have a problem with all types of fascists and authoritarians no matter the aesthetic.
Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Transfem@lemmy.blahaj.zone•How long does it take to start feeling emotional changes vs experiencing irreversible physical changes on HRT?English3·3 months agoBecause you specifically asked about sperm, the effects of HRT are (mostly) reversible in that regard, particularly if you haven’t taken HRT for long.
While this is true I want to reiterate that if you want children it’s best to assume that HRT makes you permanently infertile and take precautions accordingly. And if you don’t want children you should assume it doesn’t affect your fertility and still use contraception.
This way you’ll be safe either way.
Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your desert island video games?1·3 months agoProbably something like this:
- Slay the Spire with mods
- Kerbal Space Program with mods
- Trackmania 2020 with all maps from Trackmania Exchange downloaded
- Path of Exile
- Cities: Skylines or Planet Zoo (with mods)
I’d also like to bring Factorio (with mods of course) but I’m not sure what to replace
Haven’t seen all of them yet, but so far it’s Kiki’s Delivery Service.
How the hell did a whole generation of kids miss that? Poor reading comprehension?
In my case, probably, but I was like 14 by the time I read the last book so I don’t really blame my younger self because at that age I definitely wasn’t looking for any deeper meaning and just enjoyed the fantasy and escapism.
I learned how to do it over 10 years ago but I’ve forgotten since. And I only knew a slow method.

And just to be clear, I’m not saying they aren’t stupid.
Sylveon@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Games@lemmy.world•Players Have Too Many Options to Spend $80 on a Video GameEnglish7·3 months agoI feel like play time per money spent mattered when most people were buying offline games at full price but to me it hasn’t been relevant for a long time. I might pay full price for a game that is incredible for 5-10 hours but a game that is mediocre for 100 hours I wouldn’t even play for free.

You should basically never use a trans person’s old name, gender, pronouns, etc. unless you absolutely have to. Treat them as if they’ve always been the person they are now.
There are of course some exceptions, like if they’re not publicly out yet. You should never ever out someone else unless you have explicit permission. Or if there’s just no other way to get the information across, e.g. if you’re describing them to someone who only knows them pre-transition or if their legal name is required for something and they haven’t changed it yet. If they explicitly told you they don’t mind it’s obviously okay too, but that’s probably rare.
In short: Just keep in mind that bringing up their old identity is uncomfortable or even painful for many trans people and act accordingly.
