2·10 days agoI tried a pair of the Duluth Buck Naked with the bullpen and the seam started coming apart in the ball pouch after one wash. My regular Buck nakeds last 5 years or more until the elastic starts giving out. That’s far longer than any other kind I’ve found.

2·1 month agoWe have a wireless Brother laser MFP from 2-3 years ago that just works. I needed to scan something for the first time a few weeks ago and started to go down to rabbit hole of the official driver package but then I decided to give “scanimage” a try and it just found the scanner.
I’m not sure if I have them and don’t remember them or just don’t have them. Like you, I may get a little something during short naps but next to nothing during longer sleep.
Related to this, are you able to picture images in your head while awake? There’s a phenomenon called aphantasia that I’ve participated in a couple studies on. I’m somewhere around a 4 or 5 on the picture in the wiki. I recall at least one of the studies exploring the correlation between aphantasia and dreaming.

10·1 month agoThat’s totally legit. I prefer having my primary machine immutable so I can’t break things. I have a mini PC that’s my tinker platform. I have kubuntu on there now but may have to give PikaOS a try.
1·2 months agoI’m an old fart, so I don’t want to play any games with kernel level anti-cheat. I’ve yet to encounter a game that doesn’t work in Linux.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle had some AMD driver issues early on, but I was able to tinker a short term fix until they fixed it. MachineGames’ engine has always been wonky on release.
Parboil them? I simmer them in beer, sliced onions, garlic, and a couple spices so they get cooked most of the way through then finish them on the grill. You can then pour out most of the beer and add some brown sugar and saute for some quick caramelized onions to put on the brats.
Kobo Libre 2. I replaced an ancient backlit Kindle when it died and wouldn’t give Jeff Bezos any more money. The only gripe I have is that the dark mode toggle is one level deep in the menus and not on the main screen.
1·2 months agoI have a first gen Define XL that’s probably closing in on 15 years old. Still going strong as my primary desktop case. The only problem I’ve had is little cheap plastic connectors to attach the feet to the case broke. I know they’ve fixed the design for recent versions but I can’t justify the cost when the rest still works fine.

Was Thermal Transfer always granting an extra turn? I remember being confused by it because it felt inconsistent and didn’t seem to match the wording. Maybe I just wasn’t paying super close attention.
I think I was mostly using her to set fires to the up Miele to get back into that 200% damage stance.
I did not expect to be moved by the story though.
