Essentially there is no real reason you can’t, it’s just kind of redundant.
I wasn’t trying to be a jerk either, just not sure why.
Both require dues and both provide the same services.
(One is for service members who fought in a foreign war, the other is for service members who didn’t fight in foreign wars.
Typically VFW is for veterans who fought and American Legion is for service members who didn’t fight.
I guess there is no real reason why you can’t join both, but it’s like joining two car wash clubs.
My wife works with a renewable company that has most of its projects in Texas.
She tried to engage their company to provide support and they were like, “Lots of people need help. There are wildfires in Utah.”
She thinks there is a pretty big nationwide prejudice against Texas.
If so I get it. I feel like Texas shoots itself in the face, constantly, because the voting right is just soo dumb.
But these were little kids and poor families. Yes it was preventable, but that just makes it more tragic.
We failed them already and now we are failing them again.
If you are a member of VFW, why are you a member of American Legion?
Solid correction, thank you.
Shout-out to a fellow Houstonian!
Not just Mexican food…
You go to the back of any local restaurant, regardless of cuisine, and chances are, there is a Mexican cooking the food.
How is that a lie, if he believes it?
I don’t believe in God, but I don’t call someone a liar because they believe.
Not everyone has everything figured out at 18. But sure, continue expelling the same hate as a bigot, at the wrong people.

History That Doesn’t Suck is a pretty solid podcast and it starts right before the American Revolution. (The podcast is, at least as far as I’ve gotten in to it, is just U.S. history.)
If you want a pretty good take on it, it is a good source.
The book on Benedict Arnold, ‘Valient Ambitions’, is also a pretty awesome inside look into the struggles of the U.S. and their army, as they were starting out.
To OP’s point, the cold and disease were definitely the worst enemies. But Congress trying to supply an army without a federal tax was not very effective.
As an EE, I used both. Def not a mathematician though. Fuck that, I just plug variables into programs now.
🤣
To be fair, some days I feel like one.
I appreciate the clarification and the time you took to write your comment.
Thank you.
I’m the headline, “Entire HR Team Fired.”
In the story: about half the HR team was fired over several weeks.
A printed lie is libel, right?
I love the sources everyone is throwing at me. This is great, thank you!
This is going to be a deep dive, I appreciate the info!
I’m not a tankie/communist/socialist. In fact at this point, I’m afraid to ask for clarification.
Between my wife and I, we make pretty solid money. We own our home, we don’t live paycheck to paycheck, have good health insurance, and have solid retirement accounts.
I would not complain at all, if that shit burned to the ground omif it meant an end to this bullshit system in place today.
My wife and I also grew up poor as shit. My single Mom fed us with food stamps and government cheese.
I’ll gladly live that life again if it meant no more dragon hoarding billionaires using their money to dictate politics.
CIVIL disobedience. You can’t give them an excuse to escalate. They do dumb shit, they look terrible on t.v., but the moment a protestor crosses that line, it’ll be plastered everywhere and used as an excuse for escalation.
Fuck ICE.
Wouldn’t the fascists even argue that empathy is toxic?
