One of the ideological focus of the RAF was antifascism, which had been tolerated by the Federal Republic of Germany --e.g. it was founder of the NATO with other anticommunist bourgeous parliamentarian and fascists (Portugal) states–. Also, one of their most known actions was the kidnapping and execution of Hanns Martin Schleyer, an ex SS Official and, at that time, president of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations and the Federation of German Industries.
Aside from any ideological, tactical or strategic differences that you may have with the RAF. Valuing the organization based on the new ideological position of an ex-member more than 20 years later seems to me to be in bad taste.
A lot of press in the 80s was mostly published in black and white. I don’t know if it’s the case of this photo source.
