OMG Grandpa Cat 🥹😍
My dad watched a lot of Bond when I was a kid and I never liked the Moore ones because I thought they were too silly. But this puts a different spin on them and I appreciate Moore’s thoughtfulness. Good man.
A couple of years ago, we were coming home from visiting my in-laws in Florida and I sat next to a woman on the plane who found out we were “going home” to SF and wanted to talk my ear off about everything that’s scary there. First of all, I didn’t want to talk to you anyway, lady, I just want to read my book. But since you asked, no, I don’t know what you mean when you are talking about how dangerous it is. I played it as simply confused about what she was talking about, and eventually she got confused at my response and left me alone. I wasn’t going to be successful convincing her; I knew that. But playing it that way was non-confrontational and still seemed to have the desired effect, which was to put a chink in the armor of her misinformed opinions.
I think they must have a fundamental misunderstanding about how big Los Angeles is. Like, truly, it is monstrous. And even when the city ends, it keeps going.
Everything falls apart so fast these days!
Also mildly interesting is that you noticed it. Or maybe that’s very interesting? Anyway I’m saying I wouldn’t have noticed!
That hat has a tiara on it.
Yeah what is up with that? There are so many of those stupid stickers lately. There is no way so many cars are being driven by student drivers. I told my kids that when they’re learning to drive in a few years, there’s no fucking way I’ll put one on my car.
Also, if you have good friends, they may intentionally introduce you to people they think would be a good fit for you.
Knock it off with that making me feel old stuff, geeze man. (Holy shit, it’s been 15 years?!)
I’ve also been pretty unhappy with his handling of PG&E.
There was a big scandal some years back because an Apple employee left a prototype phone at the bar/restaurant next to the campus, so they definitely do it. I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t crack down harder after that incident, but to be fair to this guy, he didn’t take it out and about and just took it home. I can’t say I’d be overly worried about something happening to it if it was just at my house, but I also don’t have people crashing with me frequently…
I’m married so it’s moot, but I’m gonna go against the grain a little bit here. I don’t know that it would ever be a dealbreaker but it might signal a fundamental incompatibility because of me. I recently discovered the term “demisexual” and that describes me pretty well. I’d say I’m somewhere between demi and flat out asexual. So yeah, I wouldn’t judge a high number from a partner but I would worry that we wouldn’t work out, if that makes sense.
I never used Goodreads except to occasionally look up the name of an audiobook narrator or to read reviews; I never had an account. For me, BookWyrm fills the need for me in terms of tracking my own reading, and especially my TBR list. I don’t use it for anything else. I don’t post on a feed, and I barely make my ratings public. So yeah… probably not what you’re looking for but that’s all I wanted from it and it’s exactly what I got.
Seconding. Reading the other less-effusive comments has been interesting because I feel quite strongly about it. It was I think $600 when we got it and it was so difficult to stomach spending that kind of dough on a fucking litter box but now I’d drop it again in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to this one. That said, I also have three cats and now one of them has hyperthyroidism so we have to dump it every day and a half or so. It’s so often but I cannot imagine doing it with a regular litter box.
Unfortunately it’ll probably teach her the wrong lesson.
I’m good at it. But, at the same time, I live in a pretty diverse area and I’ve met plenty of people who are clearly not super comfortable with it. So it’s an interesting balancing act to do it enough to be showing respect but not so much that I creep them out. Mostly I take my cues from their own eye contact levels.
I just finished the third book in a trilogy that I thought was kind of mediocre. But I thought the first book was good; it’s just that the last two didn’t live up to it. The ending was okay, but the middle was a mess. Wish I’d just read a summary now but whatever, it’s behind me.
If it works for you, why change it? Cream vs. lotion vs. moisturizer or whatever is probably 50% thickness and 50% marketing.
