I’m not really sure what you mean. I don’t think ‘infinifte’ value vs arbitrarily high value makes a difference here. Also evolutionarily, intraspecies collaboration is beneficial, not necessarily interspecies. Although we’re talking about civilizations making decisions, not animal behaviour.

This isn’t really accurate. Mbin does what Lemmy and Piefed do (Reddit replacement) plus what Mastodon does (twitter replacement). They’re just in different tabs of the interface. You have the option of microblogging if you want, but threads are still pretty much exactly the same compared to Lemmy or Piefed.

Depending on the person it might not be a dealbreaker, as long as it’s not more than maybe 2 or 3. Although I know that is a very small percentage of people my age :(

moonlight@fedia.ioto Futurology@futurology.today•Months after he's helped gut NASA's budget, Musk is to divert $2 billion from SpaceX to his Grok AI.141·26 days agoMost roadwork contractors are spending most of the money doing job and paying employees, not funneling it to an neonazi AI.
SpaceX has taken a ton of money from taxpayers, (at the expense of NASA,) but hasn’t been making good progress on the Artemis program, for example. Musk has also threatened to stop decommission the Dragon, which the US astronauts currently rely on.
In my opinion, Elon is a national security threat, and SpaceX should be nationalized and managed by NASA.
While I agree that it’s a good idea to seek help, antidepressants do have significant negative side effects for some people, and aren’t really that effective long term. And therapy can take a long time to help, if it does at all.
I’m sure you didn’t mean it that way, but the last sentence of your comment feels a bit insulting.
Well, it is one of the most effective antidepressants…
No reason to carry knives in public
Knives are so useful, I think carrying a multitool with multiple decently sized blades is very reasonable.

I’m fine with actually high quality AI stuff (labeled, preferably), but there seems to be almost none.
Countries on the same planet results in a completely different situation. Dark Forest theory is a result of great distance (the enemy could become technologically superior within the time it would take just to gather intel), being hidden (so MAD doesn’t apply), and having a large number of civilizations (even if only a very small percentage of civilizations send out dark forest strikes, the principle holds.)
