Social media is a public utility and needs to be regulated as such. It should be still at the state level as the feds will not do it in any good way. We should have a right to Fair enforcement of the rules, to know the decisions that went to into taking enforcement actions, and being able to appeal to a jury of our peers or whatever.

The one silver lining is that if the autocracy succeeds all of these guys will be supplanted, many by being persecuted. Since I wrote this the Utah government was saying he was a roommates with a transsexual and suggested that was the cause. We should not expect reality too stop these people. Without organization and counter operations we are doomed here. The opposition party is lame and worthless by Design and fighting under their leadership is doomed to fail. Yet we continue to accept them in power.
The courts will find a way to allow them to stack the Fed so they can juice economic growth with low rates. Not only are the courts and especially the Supreme Court Federalist Society hacks chosen to side with party over law, but I believe they have dirt on these guys that could end their careers if they crossed the party.
Given the Supreme Court just canceled the federal courts from issuing Nationwide injunctions putting us all at the mercy of this Administration I have zero faith the court will protect the Republic from being overthrown in all but name for a one party autocracy.
That was perhaps the worst decision the Supreme Court has ever made which will become clear in time. Leaving no way for the courts to stop violations of law systematically by the government. No way to stop martial law and citizens or not being disappeared into Federal Detention on the Declaration of an emergency for instance.

Autocratic governments are bad. All of them, and corrupted representative governments are as well. Some lob unfair attacks scapegoating groups like The chinese, that does not mean the Chinese government is good and they should not be defended outside of those unfair attacks.

With organization where we can all cooperate on what we agree on, both publicly and in private groups as we see fit, perhaps on a Federated system of innumerable groups, we could do somethings with this stuff.

I did not have a cell phone for most of my life and I think I was happier without it. Internet was great but the enshitification makes it less and less useful.
At a minimum I want to switch to open source on computers and phone. Maybe the NSA types can still see everything you are doing, but one might be able to prevent the data brokers from getting it, which allows anybody willing to pay for tranches of it to know everything you have done, and that includes every single government agency which buys that data now.
One might think since you weren’t doing anything wrong you have nothing to fear, this information is inherently harmful in the hands of these interests in ways that are not readily apparent. Such as micro targeting on Facebook and such.
