Well first, this is not as achievable as you think.

Marrying into money means meeting a partner with money which means spending money. You think they’re gonna hang out at the local bowling alley? Like genuinely, just use this motivation to network and look for a job without linked in. That would at least allow you to make gains of either gender.

At the very least, you should multi-task. Makes you look less like a gold digger too.

Second even if you find a perfect partner. Unless they are rich rich, if anything happens you become a widow with no job history. You think a 21 year old with no job experience sucks? Try a 48 year old with no job history. That partner is going to be a single point of failure and even if you love eachother deeply, they will die someday, and it’s not guaranteed to be when you’re 90.

Also others have hit on this but you are betting on a partner. You have two competing interests, you don’t want a monster, but you also want to be taken care of. Be… be very aware that the people you would be most worried about, are looking for someone with your goals, persuading someone to have your goals, and are gonna try to raise your need for safety, and lower your expectations.

In some ways… being honest with your goal can almost be ringing the dinner bell to a monster.

To his credit, he did try to have a study session with me after that, but I had to end it early. The dude was so on edge, it was like he was convinced I was gonna stab him at any moment.

Years later he contacted me to apologize out of the blue on facebook. Went completely off grid traveling the world. My guess trying to compensate for just how little he knew of it.

I mean, the bigger reveal is him admitting that over half the Jewish vote probably voted for Mamdani.

Yeah, when it takes 3 or 4 lakes of thatch to make a thatch roof, you only ever get one building.

The amount of stone required for bricks, the amount reed required for any sort of storage, the amount of sticks to power your kiln. There’s so much grinding for base materials that making anything pretty cuts so deep into your survival.

Leather in particular sucked because you needed borax or limestone or chalk. Took so long to find but it was the difficulty of building materials that drove me absolutely batty.

Was just about to recommend this. Really wish I could get a server of people playing it. Single player is ROUGH. It takes so much time and effort to build cool stuff in survival and there’s just not enough time to gather all the raw resources in a day.

I think it’s a good thing to try and explore how easy or hard it is to build this. It can all translate into building something entirely local, building things at higher quality for less money, or even building things in times of quarantine, trade embargoes, or just lower tech areas.

The world is VASTLY different than 50 years ago. No you can’t just talk to the boss of the building and ask for a job.

The insane numbers game that job applications have become is so opaque that any advice in it is about as useful as sacrificing a goat.

Every company wants to remove as many humans as possible from its payroll. Covid and AI have proven this beyond a shadow of a doubt, loyalty means absolutely nothing now.

Just surviving in this current environment is a brand new challenge and field.
