This is why they figured out in Lakota culture many years ago that it’s not safe to use sarcasm in your language. Some people might not get it and that makes them feel left out. Others may think dumb things are true so it can only make your whole culture dumber and unable to know what is true or misinformation. The entire sarcastic subtype of comedy is basically just not done, condoned, or laughed at which I think it’s pretty awesome
Good point, but in these scenarios you are free to just hang up. Most people I think are afraid of offending someone but if they are being assholes (salesman/scammers) you have no obligation to be nice or continue the conversation. I find it empowering, even cathartic to say something like, “Oh, you’re one of those pieces of shit scammers I’ve heard about. Good day, piece of shit” or simply, “I don’t have time for your bs” and hang up.

I did a podcas (I know 🙄), where we talked about how much better our civilization would run if we modeled it after a cell or organism. Like for example, only about 10% of the total amount of ATP generated by the mitochondria goes to the nucleus, so maybe the people in charge in America should only get about 10% of the total distributed wealth/resources

Superman 3 beats almost ANY action movie out there. It literally has everything you could want in a movie… it doesn’t take itself too seriously so it’s funny as hell, has actual character development unlike anything we’ve seen before or since in an superhero movie, cool but believable fight scenes, morally grey characters, and RICHARD PRYOR.
