In the short term, you might have better luck trying to eat your fellow humans, rather than confronting the gorilla. Which seems like an analogy for how certain types of government stay in power…
Type G beats Schuko because if you put a Schuko adaptor on a UK plug, it will wreck Schuko sockets. That’s what you get for leaving your earth connectors hanging out. They are no match for the mighty type G earth pin

Sharpen up your sticks!16·4 days agoIf not fighting is an option, I guess the men will stand in a crowd making noise and the gorilla will just chill in his corner. I suppose you have to assume that all parties are 100% committed to violence
“bollocks” = bad / nonsense / lies
“the bollocks” = the absolute best you can get

The grifted, though, really believe in a cabal of powerful people molesting children. And however destructive they have been as a political force, they actually want to end what they think is a terrible ongoing crime.
I think the issue here is they got too close to the truth
bampop@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Voting age to be lowered to 16 in UK by next general electionEnglish6·16 days agoI know I wasn’t mature enough, but if being well informed, politically conscious and sensible were a prerequisite for voting, we’d be living in a very different world. As far as I’m concerned, this is most likely to change things for the better.

Nah his grandma used an IUD. I lost a lot of uncles that way

bampop@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•The destruction of Palestine is breaking the worldEnglish3·25 days agoIt works both ways. Governments are bending over backwards to silence opposition to Israel, and that means abandoning the rule of law and supressing free speech. The rot was there, but the open corruption and the sheer quantity of lies puts it into overdrive. If not for Israel, Trump would not have been reelected.

Sorry guys, no one else can do it.241·26 days agoI see so many comments saying “voting won’t work”, “protesting won’t work” etc. Anything that has any visible result, works. Because the majority of people follow the herd to a greater or lesser extent. You need to mobilise that majority in order to make a difference. The more you have a movement, the bigger, louder and more visible that is, the more people will join you. People need to feel which way the wind is blowing.
bampop@lemmy.worldto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Having the ability to lie and manipulate with no remorse will get you much further in this world than having morals and being correct3·28 days agoYou’ll also live better. It’s a sad indictment of society that people incapable of forming meaningful relationships, but able to buy some shiny crap they don’t need, are considered successful.
Seems to me we’re past that. The problem with the “fuck you, I’ve got mine” principle was the “I’ve got mine” bit, which requires holding something back from the ultra wealthy. If you can distill it down to a simple “fuck you”, you’ve got yourself a much more low-maintenance philosophy. By turning human suffering into a desired commodity, you can appease your voter base without giving them anything of value.

Never mind that, what does “07% per 100K” even mean? As far as I can tell that evaluates to 0.0000007 or 7 per 10 million
bampop@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•peanut butter actually works better than cheese and is cheaper1·1 month agoWhat happens is they eat the cheese and expect to pay for it, but they can’t find any means of paying so they die while waiting for a member of staff to turn up. That’s because capitalism is nature’s way and anything else is against God.
That’s a kleptocat, clearly just bypassing capitalism/communism and going straight to the end game
