I played the next fest demo, it has some potential, but character movement was super floaty, and combat felt okay at best. The main puzzles in the demo were also braindead ones, like skyrim first dungeon level of puzzle. However, I really liked the idea of their journal and investigation system, and the dialogues were good as well. I’m not sure this game warrants this much hyping.

I have the exact opposite opinion, I hated how bloated 3.5 was, and how broken and unbalanced were the original classes, so my first hands-on experience with 4e left me feeling refreshed. And I was never against the more videogamey design, as the outcome of that was a game that was considerably more balanced and more tactical.

Yeah, this is the way to go these days. My bank offers this feature in app, and I have a separate virtual credit card for each service. All I need to do to cancel a service/subscription is to cancel that credit card. Good luck trying to get more money from me. This is especially useful for those “free trials”, sign up with a credit card that deletes itself after 24h, and bye bye.
I agree with you. The OG souls experience is one where the boss is the culmination of the hard work you have to put into traversing and exploring each area, after which you’re rewarded with a sick fight. A lot of souls-like games don’t understand this at all.
Also the combat. DA:O was already quite streamlined when compared to other CRPGs of the time, and they only dumbed it down further and further with each new iteration.
I’m not a fan of the transition to a f2p model, the home screen looks like garbage now, and the whole UI is more polluted because they’re constantly trying to sell you something now. I have 1000+ hours in Siege, but stopped playing around the time that Sens released. Recently hopped back to check the update with some friends, and it’s clear the game has lost scope. Basically all operators released since then are just copies of a previous operator with a very slight twist. Gone were the times when people got excited for a new siege season because we wanted to see what new ops and maps were coming. Speaking about maps, the new maps also look boring and uninspired.

Noita and Exanima are also two great explanations of when to make your own custom game engine: when nothing else on the market does exactly what you need your engine to do.
Don’t fall for western propaganda. Even if you had a peaceful and democratically elected government, you’d still be a target for the USA. At this point, it’s clear that NMS is a forever-developed game, and it is clearly also the basis for Light No Fire (as they’re literally transferring systems over). It makes me think of Exanima and Zomboid. These devs have a never-ending stream of additions and reworks to develop, and I’m here for it.

You do know that above 50 USD taxes are 92% right? Check it out, a product for 1000 reais will have 900 reais in taxes. It’s bonkers. But technically, it has always been like this, but it wasn’t truly enforced/audited. Now that they are collecting the taxes at the point of sale, you pretty much pay for two products to buy one.
Below 50usd the taxes are considerably lower, and just above 50 usd they get a 20 dollars rebate on taxes, so it’s okayish to buy.

Nothing of the sort in Brazil. Stuff only gets replaced when broken or completely outdated. And any stuff that might work gets poached by insiders before seeing the light of day. You might get some stuff if you work in IT, out of question for anybody else.
Here people sell 2nd gen I5 + rx 580 pcs as “gamer pc” at 70% the price of a modern system. It’s absolutely bonkers.

Yeah, second-hand here sucks. You can get x-99 mb + cpu combos on alliexpress for 400 reais though, old xeons are good for server/jellyfin, just not very efficient. For Jellyfin, my biggest money sink is in HDDs. 4tb drives are 700 reais each, and there’s no second-hand refurbished stuff in the market, so you have to buy brand-new. For a GPU I have an ancient 750ti, but I’m looking to buy an intel A310 card if they drop lower than 800 reais. At the very least you’re looking at 3000 reais in pc parts for a server though. Mb + cpu + ram is somewhat cheap if you buy from china through alliexpress, but GPUs are a no go there. Keep in mind that when buying from China you have to avoid products above 60 dollars (around 350 reais) because of the super high taxes. If you want to buy domestically, I’d recommend a b450 AM4 board + a 3200g or something around that. You can avoid buying a dedicated GPU with a 3200g or similar, and get a nice modern platform, but the cpu will be quite weak for game servers, with inadequate support for pcie lanes, memory channels and sata ports though.
Also, for a game server, it’s very likely that you’ll have to work around being behind CGNat. I currently only self host Jellyfin inside my own house because of that, it’s just a huge pain in the ass to deal with it. There are solutions though, I just haven’t bothered. I’m still in the process of buying hard drives, so right now it’s not a huge priority.
Edit 1: wording Edit 2: forgot to talk about psus… Just don’t buy anything chinese. The MSI Mag 650w is the king of cost x benefit here in Brazil, nothing comes close, it’s usually around 300 and rock solid.
Brazil is a democracy (we managed to save it at the last toll of the bell), so the president is not an all-powerful entity.
