Well the head of the EPA called climate change “a religion” so that ship has sailed for the US.

I’m almost positive they don’t see the irony in calling climate change a “religion”, while worshipping trump and pretending to be Christians, but it is on the highest level of irony. Poetic maybe? Whatever the highest level irony is, this guy nailed it.
Congrats on playing “life” in hard mode and getting ahead. And props to your mom.
Two questions:
Nice! Congrats on the position.
Good to know! But the out of the box version of DuckDuckGo.com does have AI on by default. I think it should be off by default.
Two questions: If my math is accurate, you did so for three years. What are you doing for work now?
I was friends with a girl who had a customer buy her a hot water tank ($1200) as a tip when she was in the industry. He was one of those lonely men that was more interested in human connection than the stripping. She would talk about her problems and one day her hot water took a shit and he offered to replace it. Did you have any crazy things happen like that?
Somewhat ironic given that DuckDuckGo has AI on by default. You have to either save the settings on the cloud or manually turn off AI when searching using DuckDuckGo. Still a good privacy search engine though.
Andy Capp use to have a version called “salsa fires” and they were the superior Andy Capp fry. But alas, they discontinued them many years ago.
Impossible. Even in a world where AI can do everything perfectly, they still would not be able to disintegrate Microsoft products and support at the current pace Microsoft is doing it. With every Teams update, I honestly think it’s an April fools joke. There is no way it can be on purpose.
Facts. I’ve had 7 tick bites this year so far. I do have a fluff of a dog and live out in the woods, but I’ve never seen it this bad.
It’s like accents. Did you know America is the only place that doesn’t have language accents? We just speak normal English here.
It’s not ignorance, it’s bribery (lobbying). The oil industry wants to take advantage of green energy incentives to build more gas power plants.
Also I love the hypocrisy here:
“In 2024, Gov. Landry signed a pro-gas proclamation stating that “Louisiana recognizes natural gas as an affordable, reliable, and clean energy resource,” and that efforts to transition away from fossil fuels stand to “devastate” Louisiana consumers and economic growth.”
But also:
“Entergy customers will be on the hook for $470 million to finance the project, according to filings with the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Midcontinent Independent Service Operator, as reported by New Orleans City Business.”
Yea, I think you are correct. The BBB will be voted on July 4th, not the budget. I had my facts backward. That said, I still don’t anticipate a lot of DHS pushback. Although I hope congress does change it considerably. It’s a mess as is.
It’s already passed the house. The senate plans on voting on it by July 4th. So far, no push back from senate republicans on the DHS side of things.
According to Wikipedia:
“The Republican-led Senate is expected to amend the bill.[63] Fiscally conservative Republican Senators (nicknamed “deficit hawks”) such as Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Rick Scott of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky, have pushed for deeper spending cuts.[63][64] Moderate Republicans such as Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Jerry Moran of Kansas, along with populist Josh Hawley of Missouri, have expressed concerns about Medicaid cuts.[63][65] Other moderates such as John Curtis of Utah and Thom Tillis of North Carolina, along with Murkowski and Moran, have also expressed concerns over the end of green energy tax credits.[63] Defense hawks such as Mike Rounds of South Dakota are opposed to spectrum auction provisions in the bill.”
I keep seeing posts like this, but the sad truth is they are going to be just fine. The DHS just got a 65% increase in their budget for 2026 to go to 60 billion dollars. I believe this is the largest percentage increase since it began. That is almost 4x the budget of NASA and includes 40 billion in discretionary spending. Even if they run out of money before September, Congress will trip over themselves to give them more money. There are zero checks on Noem at this point.

“…instead they will do it by making some tech execs part-time lieutenant colonels in the Army Reserve while retaining their current full-time jobs. Welcome your newest recruits: Andrew Bosworth, CTO of Meta; Shyam Sankar, CTO Palantir; Kevin Weil, CPO of OpenAI; and Bob McGrew, OpenAI’s former research chief and current advisor to Thinking Machines Lab.”
I certainly wouldn’t want these four with me in a foxhole.
This guy was from Chinese immigrant parents. The two things trump hates the most and he is working for him. You can’t make this up.
“Such tension is especially rife in rural areas, despite the end of the racist system of apartheid more than 30 years ago. Most private farmland remains in the hands of the white minority, while most farm workers are black and poorly paid, fuelling resentment among the black population, while many white farmers complain of high crime rates.”
That last sentence sounds familiar. Gee-whiz, I wonder why the crime rates are so high?
