Survival of the fittest is who is best at sexing not who is best at thinking
I think maybe you have it backwards people who are easily swayed/trusting of authority/gullible are going to be naturally drawn toward religion. Skeptics/those who don’t take things at face value are going to be naturally skeptical of it.
Religion doesn’t make you stupid but it’s very attractive to the sort
It doesn’t happen until you have your own kid who thinks they are smarter than you
I mean 1.) the network is still pretty small and so the ratio of creators are gonna be low because the audience is low.
2.) the discussions here are still good and engaging. Unless you mean that everyone is a leftist and therefore the same. That’s not even true unless you only follow communities on Lemmy.ml and that’s only because their admins will remove comments for not being leftist
Well they are still on X which is owned by a guy who does Nazi salutes and whose AI chat bot calls himself Mecha Hitler ~(over giga Jew, but still wrong choice)~
So they will stay on that platform but won’t vote for this guy, yeah your comment rings pretty true
By this guys logic shouldn’t he be supporting the winner of the primary and admonishing those who say they will vote 3rd party instead of the other way around?
Half-Life 1 was the peak of this genre for me
Still playing Call of Duty: United Offensive multiplayer on PC nearly every day
Lemmy also can’t be used non-publicly so a pointless distinction considering the context.
YouTube still offers them a service in directing them new viewers. The big creators all lose viewers but YouTube funnels replacement views faster than they lose. They could host their own videos but they are gonna see very little growth without Google either in search or with YouTube as they start to lose the base that followed them.
They also won’t be able to negotiate as good as rates for pre-rolls or in video sponsorships as if they were on YouTube.
The only real alternative would be to band together like the creators that are a part of nebula are doing. Hosting on peertube really isn’t an option unless you are independently supported and you are doing it as a passion project and don’t care about audience growth or retention.
It already has. Lemmy.zip if unavailable to users (of the admins own volition as they don’t have the capability to comply) in the Uk because of the law
All that information is integrated in Active Directory and available for Microsoft to ingest into their AI. Heck it could be something they put in the system prompt. “If you have low confidence in your output then respond ‘contact your manager’ instead.
Since karma isn’t tracked, I don’t think it’s a real big deal having a negative score comment. But since there are people who care anyways I think the downvote does exist, it can suppress people posting certain points of view lest you anger the tankie triad
I can see that parents failed young men and the education system failed young men. But these men aren’t entitled to a woman or a high paying job. And quite frankly they probably aren’t capable of those things or they would be solving their own problems instead of blaming women for them
The other tell is using an emoji at the start of every demarcated writing section. Such as a quote or markdown heading
True, the AI mannerisms in LLM generated outputs are the same style of high view YouTube videos or high karma Reddit comments from a decade ago.
But I’ve always hated the YouTube voice or the “hey Reddit, unidan here, as a biologist did you know that jackdaws and crows aren’t the same. Upvotes to left” style.
But that’s explicitly the style that normal people didn’t use and AI almost exclusively uses, so it is noticeable.
It basically looks like DK Galaxy/Odyssey but the gameplay looks pretty solid. I am honest the whole Pauline as the little sibling coop character role feels like it could be better served by Diddy Kong. I also don’t like her design either though. I guess they wanted a character to be able to speak for DK.
You left a “can rot in hell” between your php and forever
It’s probably your fault, you loved em dashes too much that AI started using them after stealing all your content
If everyone from Reddit just went over to lemmy.world and sh.it.just.works instead of making accounts all over the fediverse and maybe even hosting their own instance, then we’d just have the same problems that we did with Reddit, just at a different domain.
The fediverse will grow in due time. But thinking of it in terms of supplanting Reddit, or replacing twitter isn’t a good mindset. Decentralized social media and activitypub are tools to build better experiences, not replace the enshittified entrenched ones.
