  • I enjoyed it when the author was in charge of the TV series. I watched until the end of the initial series, but after that I never looked back.

    Spoilers/explanation below:

Too many things didn’t make sense, like how the dragon queen suddenly became a completely different person. How the Lannister siblings made up after hating each others guts, only for the tower to collapse on top of them the same instant. That everyone met their nemesis at the very end. Why anyone would vote for Bran to become the new king when he barely spoke to anyone since he was like 13 years old, and many other inconsistencies like that. The last couple of seasons barely had any story at all, it was mostly about fighting… It was bad.

  • I disagree with your statement about quality. For instance, I’d much rather have a German car than an American one. America doesn’t really make things any more anyway, most of it has been outsourced to China or other countries. The manufacturing expertise has mostly left the US. See for instance some of the most recent videos done by Smarter Every Day on YouTube where he talks about how hard it is to make a purely American made product.

What they have in the US is money so they can buy stocks and other things like that, so they make money off of things that others make.

They also make a ton of money off of everybody using the dollar as the global trade currency. That means that they can print a lot more money in the US without it causing as much inflation as it would otherwise, and the money they print are released into the US economy. They basically get to tax the holdings of companies all over the world that way.

  • I’ve been searching for knowledge my entire life, and I love sharing what I have learned. Helping others with whatever struggles they may have gives me more pleasure than doing the same thing for myself. I don’t care if it is helping fix computers, doing math, physics or chemistry homework, helping replace a chip on a broken electronics component, or basically whatever you may think of. I’ve been around the block once or twice - I spent basically all my free time over the past 25 years nerding over anything and everything.

I would hate to be ignorant and lose the capability of helping others or myself.

  • Well, it isn’t called “medium”. If I saw someone asking for the medium, I would assume that they mean “the median” instead.

The median is the number that is right in the middle of the distribution, so if you have the data points: 1, 1, 1, 3, 14, 80, and 141, the median is 3.

The mean/average is what you get if you add all the numbers together and divide that by the number of data points. For the above example the sum is 241, and divided by 7 that is approximately 34.3 .

The mode that @Aussiemandeus mentions is the number that appears the most times, so that is 1.
