The guy was born in 1982, grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and probably realized he was gay during the 90s, a time that we, the LGBT community, were still reeling from and dealing with the AIDS crisis. I have no doubt a ton of queer kids back then thought the same as him because they just wanted to be normal and not thought of as monsters.

Plus his parents worked at Notre Dame, a Catholic university. So he was probably around a whole lot of not very accepting Catholics during his childhood.

What the point of that story was at the time was that he had to accept who he was, and that it was okay to be gay. That’s a thing a lot of queer people have to go through.

She literally was in the administration that was using the power of medicare to negotiate prices for 10 prescription drugs to be lower. And always framed it as “the first 10” instead of the only 10. Now, If I can count correctly, her supporting 6 is a lot more than “not a single one of those things” and is also a majority of the 9 that were listed.

Harris had the majority of that on her platform and no one seemed to even care, acting as if she’s literally just Trump lite despite being incredibly far from that.

What they’re gonna do is redraw all the maps of the states they are in control of, and eliminate ALL Democrat districts. Every single one. They’ll do this and there will be challenges declaring it illegal but by the time it actually comes before a court it’ll be too late to redraw so they’ll just go ahead with the illegal maps and then Democrats won’t just not win the house, they will lose 30+ seats. All because the Republicans are fascists and people refused to vote for democratic candidates last election cycle.

They might, might, leave one or two blue districts per state, but otherwise they will be gone. This is the plan in Ohio and in Florida, it’s happening. It doesn’t matter that it’s BS.

Anyone who helped Trump win, including those who helped Harris lose, will be responsible for the downfall of the American democratic system.

Well that’s positive! I’ve corrected my comment, I’m curious how that false reporting she was a trump supporter came to be but it’s good to know she isn’t that.

Although her being “not political” is pretty fucking nuts but that’s not conservative at least.

Important note: Shes also a Trump supporter. She actively voted for Republicans who were going to do this to us and when they then did what they said they were going to do she was supposedly surprised. She fucked around and her getting arrested is her finding out.

She also shouldn’t have gotten arrested and many many trans people go to the correct bathroom in states where it’s illegal to do so and have only not been arrested because we do everything we can to get in and get out and not make ourselves known.

Unions are absolutely why we have 40 hour work weeks I wasn’t saying otherwise. Just that because of how our day works 8 hours of work was what people fought for. If we had days that were 48 hours things could be different and people could have fought for 10 hours days. Of course this is all hypothetical and we have no idea what people actually would have fought for.

The point isn’t about how our work week works though, it’s about how dumb it is to assume that other planets wouldn’t have possibly longer work weeks.

Welllll the 40 hr work week is based off our 24 hour days and some planets have much longer than 24 hours in their day. So realistically some planets could have 60 hr work weeks. Plus we have no idea the governmental structure and ideology of other worlds and if they even allow you to stop working at all/you’re worked to death or if they have such an advanced society that you don’t even really have to work much at all.

Yeah I saw the video and pictures a little bit after I commented and I think taking that kind of thing and putting it side by side with Auschwitz is a much better side by side.

Also it’s cots of 2, just normal bunk beds, not 3. 3 was what it was like down in El Salvador. Not that that matters much but yeah.

They’re definitely concentration camps but I don’t think this is a good way to draw the comparison, you could easily do the same side by side with FEMA camps (temporary housing) after a natural disaster. Something that the conspiracy oriented people have been doing for a long while.

They want people like me and those I love to kill ourselves because it’s cheaper for them than sticking us in camps then they can get to going after the gays. The depressing reality is that there is going to be a sharp rise in trans suicides soon, especially if the ban on Medicaid hrt coverage goes through. Many say death before detransition and they fucking mean it.

And it’s hard to exist in this country as a trans person right now and not just be terrified and feel like taking the easy way out. Even if it’s what they want.

I think the biggest problem with your point is that these specific religions have core tenants that center around converting people and “saving” them. Because of that people will always be able to use whatever rationale they want to justify how they’re trying to save people when they’re bigoted towards them.

You might say that religion and faith isn’t the problem, and you’re right that it shouldn’t be the problem. But right now, it is the problem. Right now religion is used around the world to purely spread bigotry under the guise of “saving” the people they’re being bigoted towards.

In order for religion to not be used this way they would require massive reforms that would help push them towards a more genuinely accepting existence. But that won’t happen. At least not in any of our lifetimes. These religions are so old that they get to move as slow as they fucking want to when it comes to modernization.

Religion is being used constantly as justification for being horrible people and allows followers to think they have the literal creator of the Universe behind them. There is no world that exists in the next hundred or several hundred years that does not continue to have religion be used for horrible horrible things.

So fuck it. Are there some good people in there who just happen to believe in God? Absolutely. But religion as an organized structure is really fucking over modern society.

I think his campaign succeeding would more be a way to show his kind of message and campaign tactics are actually viable both in general and against establishment Dems as opposed to it somehow making a big difference in the country. If he succeeds he’s laying the track for others to follow.
