  • Thank you for the clarification. I’ve always just searched TITLE light novel and it just comes right up when looking for the source of a graphic novel.
If I had the bandwidth I would start up novel translations myself, but alas my life is too busy to moderate and maintain it.
Thank you for your own efforts as a moderator and taking the time to clarify.

    Edit:
I’m not good at using Lemmy search, but I figured out how to find my post here: Link
I found a discord server that was dedicated to the series I was talking about, but left it since I don’t like my discord cluttered.
I read like 20 different stories across Korean and Japanese authors. The bulk keeps me distracted enough to not have spare time to chat. Although I miss having people to converse with.

  • Thanks for the response.

Considering that Lemmy is still growing I’d hope there would be a place to discuss all light novels in one place.

About a year ago maybe I made a post and it was taken down due to not being a japanese web novel.

Regardless of style “web novel” and “light novel” aren’t specific to a source country like manga and manwha are. So as a community restricting !lightnovels@ani.social to just japanese ones didn’t make sense. You could’ve done jnovels instead.

You’re doing it based off of writing style. You can make that call as a moderator but I just let it go and don’t discuss my reading with anyone still after leaving reddit.

One day maybe enough people break the rule in a month to open it up.

  • That’s sweet you found a partner through an MMO.

Our issue is MMO drama. You always end up in a guild because all MMOs push guild/group content. Most guilds have leaders and leaders are just human. People are of course flawed. We all have our quirks and that creates friction. The friction brings drama.

You need organizers to coordinate and lead activities. A good leader will organize parties and help with strategy.

In every single game I end up in a leadership position because I’m really good at it. Which brings more drama to me directly.

That and it does suck to run a raid and finally drop the piece you want only for it to go to someone else…

FF14 has that token system which is nice though.

So many people got hit by a layoff during the pandemic it bet it opened lots of eyes. Mine included.

I was recruited to an ISP for my knowledge but my metrics were against new customer activations. I specialized in trouble calls so customer satisfaction. I bet I was one of the first to cut when they needed to tighten the belt.

One thing thst are me feel better is half the managers got cut too.
