As an outsider to this conversation, you want people to be nice to you in order to accept their truth except they won’t be nice to you unless you accept the truth. I think both sides need work but the only thing that matters is the correct info.

I like how uBlock blocks redirected links from things like Google Maps which reminds me to just type in the website. I hope it can be turned up for this too.
They can also make money by tracking the link or better if have an app. If they’re not selling the info then they would at least use it for internal statistics which is fair but we don’t have to support that.
