Without Linux folk you wouldn’t have Lemmy. Nobody’s forcing You to switch, you can pay as much attention to Linux posts as any other shit you’re not interested in (that is, none) rather than making it a whole thing.

It probably was Neon. I switched recently and it’s more resource hungry than Kubuntu, even.
I switched to KDE Neon lately and holy fuck does it chug down my battery in a few hours time (though most of the consumption is from Firefox so can’t blame it completely on the distro)
Windows only mfs so used to being different levels of inconvenienced we can’t make a post showing appreciation without coming off as bragging
Given that cowbee has very kindly provided a source already I just wanna clarify that I didn’t mean a clash among terrorists themselves, but among them and the government, I just lost a few words in the process of rewriting the sentence.
Speaking of, why are you talking about America at all, while telling people to “shut up about the foreigners”.
Peak gringo deflection. Because unlike USians speaking about countries they’re actively, openly sabotaging, the rest of the world should be able to criticize the one government trying to fuck us all in the pursuit of having everything for its ruling class forever. I’ll stop talking about the US the moment y’all fuck off and stop stealing all our wealth through your financial and military apparatus, or spreading torture and terror through proxies because it’s “the strategy” only to use it as an excuse to talk about us like animals. I’d be happy to never again remember your shit stain of a country.
Grapho@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•The U.S. Advances Its Dystopian Plan to Destroy China26·2 days agoKeep talking about it, they’ll never see it coming.
You are from that country, tho. So do something about that or shut up about the foreigners.
Not to mention, “Tiananmen Square massacre” is a fabrication from US and their UK media lackeys in the same way they fabricated the beheaded babies and the Nayirah testimony and literally too many instances to name.
What happened was a violent clash between the government and US sponsored terrorists trying to hijack a wide-tent protest which dissipated quickly after the violence started. The US kills and has continued to kill more people than that on a weekly basis for decades, without even the veneer of legitimate self defense. Kent State massacre, the entirety of COINTELPRO, MOVE bombings, the killing of the Ferguson protesters.
There’s one person in jail RIGHT NOW for every 200 in the US. Cops kill black and latino people on camera, unprovoked, following horrible displays of cruelty, then flaunt it in your face that you’re gonna pay for them to do it again.
Shut up about china or anywhere else in the world that isn’t funded by your government fr.
Grapho@lemmy.mlto Memes@lemmy.ml•Liberals parroting liberal media: Churchill was a hero!61·4 days agoI never said Mao didn’t have his share of blame, but to claim he’s a monster responsible for unspeakable misery not a paragraph after downplaying Churchill’s genocide is pretty rich. The Great Famine was gonna happen regardless, it was just made worse by the attempts to prevent it, but the party immediately intensified efforts to make sure it never happened again. Can you say the same about British rule in India?
Grapho@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.ml•TikTok hires ex-Israeli army instructor as new hate speech manager, sparking backlash8·4 days agoThey got it all wrong:
Fair moderation? No, more hate speech!
No such thing. You pay regressive taxes such as sales tax, tariffs and your landlord’s property tax.
Now crunch the numbers but tally the death toll of every coup USAID helps get going, every land and agricultural reform that doesn’t get off the ground because USAID threatens to pull out, all the deaths from having to obey asinine IP laws with regards to medicine that is priced to gouge US patients, let alone global south ones (again with USAID threatening to pull out)
At this point I don’t consider gringos collateral. It’s your fucking country doing stuff like Operation Phoenix, Gladio, Condor, and countless other black ops and coups and the systematic starvation of the global south, and y’all only care about what they’ll do for you, in the singular.
I’m sorry for the children in the US and the immigrants/indigenous, the rest of y’all have had plenty of time to straighten things out and it’s always this “vote blue you fuckin traitorous pleb” shit. I see friends in the PSL working their ass off and getting chewed out by the DNC primary revolutionaries. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to resent y’all giving us Monopoly money (that you can only spend in the
company storeUS treasury) in exchange for making all your shit and growing most of your food at gunpoint while you argue about whether Bezos should get all of it or if you should take some from him.

Grapho@lemmy.mlto Memes@lemmy.ml•Liberals parroting liberal media: Churchill was a hero!18·5 days agoAnd the great famine was exacerbated by the campaign to eliminate the “four pests”, but the experts at the time were divided on the issue, and the party corrected course as soon as they saw other pests such as locusts increase and on the advice of other experts. They weren’t just handing down nonsense orders willy nilly, they were desperately experimenting on the fly to make sure that famine stopped being an issue, and it did relatively soon.
Grapho@lemmy.mlto Memes@lemmy.ml•Liberals parroting liberal media: Churchill was a hero!325·5 days agoThe famine in India was very much manmade and could have been greatly mitigated if Britain desired, much like the Irish Genocide. The famine in China absolutely didn’t result in the deaths of 36 million, that’s Black Book of Bullshit numbers and it was sadly a common occurrence well before Mao was in power, which is why they were trying to get rid of pests in the first place: food security was a huge issue, one that has thankfully been solved since the party acknowledged the experts and corrected course.
As expected, the toll of Churchill’s genocide is pushed down as far down as you can while it’s zillions and bajillions whenever the commies are to blame. It’s transparent as hell.

The entire special is pretty great, the pace is fantastic and it flows from song to song really well. It’s also quite a technical feat choreographing, performing and filming all of that on your own in a single room.
Firefox fixed its memory hog problem for a bit after 2016 or so and immediately got to work on how to get just as bad again.
