I do think that if there is a use for them, it will become apparent, probably not replacing regular soldiers though, but augmenting their forces the same way tanks and planes and mechanised infantry didn’t “replace” infantry, but are used as part of larger combined arms forces. Hell, even stuff considered completely obsolete, like cavalry forces, still have their place occasionally in modern war.

Aerial drone, and I wasn’t being too serious, as you can probably tell by the second part of my comment.

What benefit is there to having a soldier pilot a humanoid robot over a regular kind of drone? The drone is more mobile, can carry much heavier weaponry, and can be used for scouting as well as regular battlefield use. While having remote control Gundams would be the coolest thing ever, I just don’t think it would ever be practical enough compared to drones.

On the other hand, the larger payload and durability of a dirigible craft is far superior to a fixed wing aircraft like a plane, they can fly much further afield and carry a much heavier payload, and the act of controlling them is far less taxing than a biplane, or heaven forbid, a triplane. The Kaiser is a fool for investing in this new dead end technology.

This isn’t necessarily fiction, it’s a threat. This is their goal, this is what they plan on working towards with China. They recognise they can’t compete with them economically, so they’re going to leverage the west’s soft power to try and destroy them. I don’t know how well it will work, since the west’s soft power is also waning, and racist anti-China attitudes are only really prevalent in the west, but it isn’t a good idea to underestimate them.

It’s probably just the usual thing the west does, as western systems and social safety nets collapse (healthcare, in this case) they need to distract the population, so they go for the tried and tested “Sure, things are bad, but Bad Guy Country is worse!”

Yeah, this is basically 90% of Australian media. Framing China as an “Imperialist bully” who picks on every other country and is hated by the world, and if only someone would do something about them. It’s 100% pure manufactured consent and it is everywhere. The average Australian thinks that China is sneakily plotting to take over the world, starting with Australia. I hate it here.

I really fucking hate how the Western Chauvinist left just uses the term “imperialist” to mean “Goes against western imperialism.” Like, I have real, visceral hate for these people.

Which is it? Is he a dictator or is he learning from dictators? Are they saying the African brainpan is predisposed to dictatorship, or are they saying Africans are so stupid they’ll learn from the first person who tells them what to do(dictators in this case). I’m starting to think this white supremacy thing isn’t internally consistent at all!

It’s not good for Chinese people (or Asian looking people in general) in the west though. These people will be calling for pogroms sooner or later.

Whew, I was almost worried I’d look bad by comparing my personal strain of idealistic socialism (it’s basically the Nordic model but better) to China. But thankfully they fail my purity test, which means I don’t have to actually learn about any of their accomplishments or achievements and can just call them bad guys. I hate the US too though, but I’m glad they tell me the truth when it comes to China, very nice of them.

Why do these guys always talk about fictional characters as if they were historical figures?

I don’t want to scream “obvious feds” too loudly, but why is it every single one of these diaspora subreddits always sound exactly the same? I don’t mean to assume, but every single person there types like how an ignorant white guy would think that a “foreign” guy would type.

Quite late to this, but I fucking hate the way western media does this shit, specifically the “his whereabouts are unknown.” part. Really weaselly, just implying that he was black bagged and taken away forever, when he was probably just taken to hospital for going in a freezing river.

As a rule of thumb, any white guy talking about non-white nations on youtube, especially asian nations, is probably either a racist or a sexpat until proven otherwise. Doesn’t matter if they claim to speak the language or live there.
