Prequel that may or may not lead into the first scene
Sequel that exists in my head but never gets written

The thing that really gets my goat is that there was no way the MTG bill/amendment defunding the Iron Dome was gonna pass. If AOC was truly cynical she would have voted for it, instead her politics explicitly lead her to vote against it.
the self-defense of a population
Zionists are by definition the aggressors in this conflict and have been since 1948. They do not have a right to self defense. Supporting them is like sending weapons to Germany after it invaded Poland and claiming that they’re for “self defense” against antifascist partisans.
It’s always projection. Even if they’re not literally doing the thing that they accuse their opponent of doing yet, the fact that they’re making the accusation reveals their intention.
Ah shit, this means they’re gonna do everything they made up about Xinjiang (if they’re not doing it already at the alligator place)
You’ve heard of jumping spiders? Wait till you get a load of the new and improved flying spiders!
I would do TV shows and movies that I like. Yeah streaming but having a local copy is great and often faster especially where I live.
Fuck Visa but I’m 99% sure it’s a law (or a reinterpretation/expansion of an existing law) making them do this, it just doesn’t make sense otherwise.
This is very game dependent. Right now I’m in a pretty brutal one where everyone is branded by the goddess of mind control and we have miniboss encounters with our own former PCs who’ve been turned into grotesque monsters - but I’ve also played in games where the PCs were newcomers to Olympus and more or less ended up recreating the first few God of War games.
This is what drove me to Debian. I like stability, I don’t need cutting edge, simple as.
A guest on Space Ghost Coast to Coast put it best. “A plant out of place” is a weed, like an insect out of place is a pest. It’s a definition that centers ecology and targets invasive species.
“you’ll own nothing and be happy” is also a fair descriptor of software piracy come to think of it
glad to know that people are basically the same everywhere.
the transparent/translucent electronics trend of the 90s and early 2000s
I’ve been feeling nostalgic for this look lately. I really like how it emphasizes the artificial nature of the device in question and invites you to think about how it works and how it was put together - while minimalist electronics do exactly the opposite, almost as if you’re embarrassed about owning it and want to pretend that it’s not there.
In another case of “it’s always projection”, transphobes regularly accuse the trans community of having a “gender ideology” when it is clear from all available evidence that it is the anti-trans position that is rigidly ideological and unable to change when presented with evidence that it is wrong. The gender ideology that they are promoting is the exact same one that Western patriarchy has always promoted - women and men have to be squeezed into their little boxes and perform specifically prescribed roles and any deviation from the fairy tale is completely unacceptable.
That would be the funniest thing ever, of course I’m sure the racists would just move the goal posts.
As for time scale, I’m not sure if anyone knows the time scale of the initial development of lighter skin tones. Could have been thousands of years, could have been hundreds of thousands. It probably wasn’t faster than that, because if it was then we would have enough data by now to see the effect in certain populations that have migrated latitudes within written memory.
But here’s something to consider: sometimes evolution can produce effects over surprisingly short periods of time, so it is theoretically possible for this to happen as a result of climate change even if it’s very unlikely, so don’t lose hope.
That’s why revolutionary communists sent their guys to liberal parliaments with reforms as a nice complement, but agitation as the main objective.
Isn’t a major part of the idea here that pushing for popular things and getting stopped by the capitalist state has a class consciousness building effect? Like imagine if a substantial fraction of Mamdani supporters see his populist energy break against the sea wall of capitalist institutions and get even further radicalized. That’s not a bad thing.
:mother-nature: I’m sorry but
the carnism will stop.
Should be noted that Europe had commons for hundreds and hundreds of years before they all got enclosured and they managed them just fine with local-level spontaneous democracy.
Also the “tragedy of the commons” as we know it today was invented by a malthusian in the 1960s and everybody who invokes it as an argument against socialism ignores the part of the essay where the author advocates for central planning
If there’s any discounts they probably take the form of a link on a website that gets you 10% off (clicking the link installs a cookie that increases your prices on that website by 10%)
If I could get a Motorola Droid 4 with a modern processor that would be peak.
I miss smaller sizes. I’m currently on the cheapest phone my carrier offers after my last one broke, and it’s still way bigger than it needs to be. Shit literally slowly pulls my pants down if I have it in my pocket.
I miss the fingerprint reader on the back. I don’t know which brain genius moved that function to the front but it was so much more convenient on the back.
I miss wired headphones. Bluetooth can’t go five minutes without cutting out for a couple of seconds, and while I’ve tried to use a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle that adds an extra failure point compared to just having the port. And if phones are going to be these giant bricks in your pocket anyway they might as well bring it back.
And last but certainly not least I miss a physical landscape keyboard. There are a few gimmicky ass-phones that offer this feature but they all suck for different reasons. Swype is fine but I spend as much time correcting typos and incorrectly predicted words as I do typing, plus the loss of screen real estate to the software keyboard can make some sites and apps totally unusable in landscape mode.
