The difference is Woke has no reasoning while Christianity does. Woke is basically religion taken out of context and degenerated into emotional diatribe. At its extreme, you get things like communism, and we all know how that turned out. Learning about different religions and philosophies puts things in context, and an enhanced perspective.

It is an ideology that digs at the bottom of the barrel with no reason. Replace Woke with Greek philosophy, Christianity, Confucianism, and Buddhism as to put them into context. They are much better. The fetishization of weakness, or the infatuation with weakness, is not healthy for society. We need smart people, not mindless robots who live in a fantasy world.

This includes, Medicaid, Obamacare, and Medicare, not just private insurance. Too much insurance, and not enough shopping around for lower prices, effectively as not having any competition. In basic economics, people shop around for cheaper prices among providers who should be competing among each other. This is basic economics. Why is that so hard for Americans to understand? More insurance is not going to fix the problem. Americans need to go through basic economics as high school curriculum, because their current education isn’t serving them well. They have no ability to understand causation and easily mislead by the corrupt politicians they vote for. Paul Krugman, for example, could not see how inflation could be produced by squeezing supply chains, and flooding the economy with money.

Amoxtli@thelemmy.clubto Philosophy@lemmy.world•The Crescent and the Guillotine, How Tolerance Became a Suicide PactEnglish23·8 days agoCan you say Islam is inferior to liberalism? Are you brave to do that? Are you open enough to do that? I don’t think so. The article points out, without recognizing that Western values are superior to Islamic ones, yet because superiority is evil, and inferiority gets credit, it is politically incorrect to point out the obvious to the one that should be bias. A devout Muslim without hesitation would say Islam is better than the Western system.
Amoxtli@thelemmy.clubto Philosophy@lemmy.world•The Crescent and the Guillotine, How Tolerance Became a Suicide PactEnglish24·8 days agoLiberalism as a political system is simply equal rights of the individual before the law. It focuses on the individual. Don’t confuse this with Western morality that obsesses with minority groups because they are implicitly, or subliminally, considered weak compared to the host culture. This obsession with weakness comes from Christian morality. In my ways, the evolution of Western society is based on this concept of overthrowing the strong in favor of the weak. This is not much different. This is uniquely Western culture, because Western culture is the only part of Christianity that emphasized the suffering of Jesus. As a result, to feel compassion for all things weak, instead of marginalizing it like normal people do. This is, in fact, where Woke people get their infatuation with victimization, thus identity politics, because first you must identify the victim. You see Woke people on Lemmy everyday posting their victimization articles.
True multiculturalism is having different cultures and all their peculiarities, however much you disagree with it. Instead, what bleeding compassionate liberals have, is try to meld other cultures into the host culture, in an attempt to make neutral their beliefs of how the world should be structured. Being neutral is not right, or wrong, just natural, and that is what the typical Westerner thinks as natural. The new immigrants, who are not of Western culture, do not have the same compassionate compass as the natives. The world they are from, does not emphasize any affinity with compassion, or have the worship of weak things.
This is why there is a backlash against open borders. Pleasant liberal societies suddenly are disgruntled by additions of other cultures. Their mannerisms are different. Their beliefs are different. Then you have to defund the police movement, the only thing that could make order out of the chaos, because police are viewed as oppressors over the weak in the Woke mind. Oh well, good luck.
German intellectuals did a great job of dissecting what is Christian and what is everything else, like Arthur Schopenhauer, and Friedrich Nietzsche.
