Hi comrades, I’m reposting my mutual aid request with a clear update on what’s happening. Thank you for always standing with us.
Comrades… I really need you right now.
Some of you already know our story. My sisters and I are trans refugees from Uganda. We fled persecution and ended up in Gorom settlement camp in Juba,South Sudan. We were attacked in the camp, our shelter was burned and we spent weeks in the hospital recovering. You were the people who kept us alive when the world around us wanted us gone.
I’m back asking for help because things have gotten very bad again.
We’re now 3 months behind on rent. It wasn’t laziness or carelessness. Our caretaker was in a car accident and in the hospital all this time. No one came to collect and we kept hoping we could manage before anyone noticed.
Two days ago he came back. They’re demanding the full amount at once.
Our rent isn’t just a room. It’s water. It’s WiFi. It’s safety. It’s the difference between sleeping inside or being thrown back into violence. They’ve already cut the water. We can’t cook. We can’t bathe. We’re carrying tiny jerrycans across the settlement just to make it through each day.
Food has completely run out again. Today, we prepared porridge and boiled eggs for lunch because there was nothing else left. My sisters tried to laugh like it was a treat, but I could see the fear. Hunger keeps us awake at night.
Being trans refugees means we never get to rest. Every small bit of progress is followed by another crisis. Some days it really feels like the world wants us to disappear quietly.
I know many of you helped us before when our shelter was burned and we ended up in the hospital. You literally kept us alive. I will never forget that solidarity.
That’s why I’m here again. Because you have proven that solidarity is real, that trans lives matter, that comrades care.
Right now we need to raise 900 USD for rent before things get worse. Anything extra will go toward food because we truly have nothing left.
If you can help, even $5 or $10 changes everything here. Sharing the link in my bio helps too. Please don’t scroll past this. Please see me. Please see us.
Thank you for giving us reasons to keep fighting. Thank you for believing we deserve safety, food, and dignity.
Support link in my profile/bio. With love and hope, always ❤️🖤❤️
