    As in 1KiB = 1024B (Kilobytes resp. Bytes)

    Isn’t it even more convoluted than this?

    Doesn’t KiB translate to Kibibytes? Because “kilo” is 1000 (powers of 10).

    Kibi is 1024, the “bi” is supposed to mean “binary”, or powers of 2.
