Lawyers for the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson argue that their client’s constitutional rights are being violated by the government, while legal experts question Attorney General Pam Bondi’s death penalty pursuit. “I’ve been handling capital cases for over 20 years,” one tells VF, “and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
The gun is a glock with a custom grip right? That seems like it would be easy to identfy.
well that’s not important, what matters is the barrel and such, it will leave distinct ballistics and metal fragments… the forensics people will fire the gun again and compare that bullet to the ones retrieved….
It was a 3d printed gun, basically impossible to track down.
Ghost guns still are usually made with parts from major manufacturers -barrels, slides, part of the receiver (see wired article).
Its impossible to track down the gun but if he was carrying it then its already tracked down. If he’d thrown it in a river it would hace been impossible for law enforcement to connect it to him unless they had video of him tossing it.
Since there’s video of the gun at the crime (and it exhibits a very obvious design flaw) and he had it on him the rarity of such a gun will likely serve the opposite effect at trial.
