Remember when Lando benefitted from the 10 second penalty in Silverstone and everyone heaped on Piastri for asking for the place back? I’m not sure how this was any different.

Still very painful but respect how he handled it. Thinking longterm is the wise thing to do. Hope he gets the WDC, he totally deserves it.

That was a mistake Piastri made, today’s wasn’t Norris

Not sure if this is right or not but it sounds like a distinction worth considering

No not necessarily a mistake on Norris’ behalf, but he did choose to go second in the pit stops and therefore relinquished any lead if it was a dodgy stop, which it was.

I feel like McLaren took the chance factor out of the racing by making them switch spots, which kinda sucks.

That was the stewarding potentially messing up, this was the team fuck up and there were no other cars anywhere near so they were able to fix their own mistake

Given that Lando didn’t ask for the place back… McLaren have just intervened and put their drivers in a weird position where Piastri is pissed off and Norris looks like a wet blanket.

Make team orders illegal again. They’re fucking lame.

McLaren asking Piastri to swap with Lando just because the latter had a bit of bad luck during his pit stop does not make any sense.

The reasoning is that Norris gave him the first pit stop in order to help Piastri defend again P4. It’s returning the favour to let Norris past. It’s a shitty situation all around. It’s not just because of “a bit of bad luck” though

(and it’s the right call by Piastri in my opinion. Sacrifice three points when you’re so far ahead in order to keep the goodwill of your teammate and closest rival is a good trade)

Oh yes, I forgot that Lando let him pit first, but at that moment I thought it had more to do with Norris defending his position than helping Piastri defend Leclerc.

I guess this is where Lando will need to show his mental strength because even if he had nothing to do with this, it’ll make him seem incapable of winning by overtaking.

Let’s see the post race chat. For a fumble like that I get why the team is asking but It does make those 2/3 positions feel bitter for both drivers.

I don’t understand why Bearman got the penalty, Sainz did not leave him enough room even though he was ahead at the apex.
