Someone sent me enough for the shoe inserts and one session of shockwave therapy, thank you so much! I still need another £300 to £480 to pay for a full course. (they said 6-9 treatments).

I had a stroke a few years ago and it has left me with pain and debilitating mobility problems. Despite musculoskeletal physiotherapy and neuro physiotherapy on the NHS, it’s getting worse, not better, as my left side is so weak I can barely walk and keep getting severe sports injuries on my left side just from doing simple everyday things like lifting small objects and walking a few steps.

I had my most recent physiotherapy appointment today and they told me I need two things that the NHS doesn’t pay for. I need new orthopaedic inserts in my shoes, and they also recommended shockwave therapy, since all other treatments up until now have failed. However the NHS is gradually reducing the treatments they offer, and my local hospital’s physiotherapy department doesn’t offer this treatment on the NHS. They said they can refer me to go private.

The cost is £60 a session, and I would need multiple sessions. The orthopaedic inserts for the shoes are £10 each and I need four.

My mobility problems due to all this are so severe now that I can barely walk more than a few steps. I am trapped at home all day, have no independence as I can’t go anywhere unless my landlady agrees to drive me. I can’t even use public transport as the nearest bus stop is too far away for me to walk. I am a prisoner unless this gets resolved, and it is destroying my mental health, I am so depressed staring at four walls all day.

I’m only 41 and I am living the life of an old age pensioner stuck in a nursing home. I really need whatever help exists to try and improve this situation. My life was already not great due to my thyroid cancer treatment and its side effects (including the stroke) that left me unable to hold down a job, but now without being able to even walk around outside, I’ve got nothing to live for. Please give me a chance to get this treated.
