Hey all. I don’t have a large social media following and I tend to keep things under the radar. That being said, I feel like we’re reaching a breaking point in the US, if we haven’t already. I’ve put a lot of thought into it, and I’m fully prepared to quit my job and go to DC for a 2009-esque ‘occupy’ movement. We show up, and we don’t leave until change happens. The more of us who show up, the more effective this will be. I’ve fully considered the ramifications of being arrested, or worse. I’m also fully aware I can’t do anything by myself. What’s the general consensus on getting a large movement started?

TBH I’m not sure things have changed much since when Trump was elected, aggregate polls show he’s got the same 52% unfavorable as last year, but in January he was actually considered more favorable than unfavorable.

If you want a real shot at winning any sort of movement you’re going to need to go door to door, visit red districts, and inform people how these policies are impacting their lives in a non-confrontational manner such as deep canvassing. We don’t need to collect our people in one place, we need to volunteer for the DNC and the Democratic Socialists far and wide. A real “tipping point” is going to be when the Trump admin successfully and blatantly suppresses democracy in the midterms for all to see.
