A square of cloth is too useful to be without when you’re outdoors. Strain water Wipe your face Wet it and wrap it around your neck Wrap your neck when it’s cold Tie it to a pole with your gear in it I have a gaiter in both my water and land bags. Sometimes two! Poles are handy! Walking stick for tough terrain Fighting other hobos Carrying your handkerchief I carry a “spider yeetin’ stick” in the summer. Monster orb weaver blocking the trail! Wrap her and yet her in the woods. Path clear, spider unharmed.
