Android apps distributed through the Play Store cannot be required to use Play Billing and must allow for third-party payment methods, as well as communication of other payment methods. Google cannot require developers to change their prices to reflect Play Billing.
This one is huge. When this is implemented, Google can no longer enforce it’s 30% share.
Who would have thought that Epic games would be the company to break both Apple and Google
This situation is Unreal to me.
Godlike!
They haven’t broke apple yet. Apple is kicking and screaming all the way.
They also didn’t win sideloading on the IPhone, which would have benefitted users and open source projects. The outside payments they did win will benefit commercial developers (with some price drops for users).
This just might be the greatest thing to ever come out of epics “store”.
The order got suspended by the court for now, I think I read it somewhere.

It’s in the Update toward the bottom.
But it’s nonsense, there’s very little work to do for Google.
Big tech pays big dumbass, big dubass make rules go away.
These greedy asses were peacefully playing god in their ecosystems until an even greedier ass came by.
Takes one to break one I guess.
It’s good to see the spirit of ZZT and Jill managing to live on in current Epic.
