    My guess is that it comes down to how effective the minority party is at stalling the actions of the majority party. It feels like when democrats have the majority, they don’t do much and get shut down by the republicans at every turn. Compare that to how the republicans are just steamrolling everything this year and the democrats have been extremely ineffective at doing anything to stop them.

      At least they have some principles - but again, Republicans and their villianesque ideological leaders have executed a systematic destruction of American democracy. Blaming Democrats is not a path to reversing thaf.

        For sure, republicans deserve nearly all of the blame here, but not criticizing democrats for never learning from their mistakes, rolling over in the face of everything that’s going on and not having a plan to deal with this ahead of time when it should have been extremely obvious to anyone paying attention that this was going to happen is not a good idea either.
