More and more US citizens are deciding to leave their country because of growing hostilities against migrants and other social groups. Many are moving to Mexico. DW met with some of them in the city of San Miguel de Allende.
Latinx is a shitty way to try to colonize the language by well-meaning but ultimately ignorant Americans. Using @ is a little more common but frankly “UNIDOS” just makes more sense for the most amount of Spanish speaking people.
Off topic, but I noticed UNIDXS on the sign and I was wondering whether that’s a common way to gender-neutral-ify Spanish in Mexico?
I’ve seen it in the US, but only in “Latinx”. I have never seen it in European Spanish, there i usually see “o/a”.

In Mexico, I frequently see @. E.g. unid@s.
I love that! It looks like an a and like an o too!
