      It’s better to stick with brands like Mikrotik and Ubiquiti for WiFi access points and hardware you can run OPNsense or OpenWRT on for a firewall/router.

        Oh, I already have an OPNsense router, and my wifi router is running Merlin, so I’m all set there. I was just curious if the situation with Netgear has improved literally at all.

        Second this, always had issues with wifi access points across a variety of brands until I put in a unifi access point which has been completely bulletproof since I put it in. I ended up moving all my networking gear to unifi and the ecosystem is a bit expensive but is worth it for the amount of time I don’t have to touch it.
