minus-squareSCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·13 days agoThere’s an app iirc that lets you plug headphones in and it somehow uses them as an antenna… Oh wait, no more headphone jack!
minus-squarepiccolo@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·13 days agoThe phone has to have an ADC hardware to allow that.
minus-squareSCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·13 days agoSo basically it just has to have a microphone? Essentially, it has to be TRRS?
minus-squarepiccolo@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·edit-213 days agoWell no. I was being simple to get the point across. You’d need something like this to amplify and demodulate the radio siginal and then convert it to digital.

minus-squarepirat@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·11 days agoIf they don’t, you’ll have to use something like an external RTL-SDR dongle and a USB OTG adapter…

Not all do.
It depends if the hardware is locked down or not
