Me and the pigeons in front of my window. Once you realize how they’re different and additionally name them there’s no going back.

I’ve never understood the animosity towards pigeons, they’re such harmless birds. And really quite beautiful when you actually take the time to look at them.

Shoot, they were beloved pets before the invention of the telephone eliminated their usefulness for long distance communication. They were fully domesticated and we just kicked them out to fend for themselves.

Befriending wild animals on their terms is awesome, no matter are they slugs, deer or birds. I’ve been bribing the neighbourhood corvids for about three years now, and gotten a few friends.

We had snails at my last house and I became fascinated, in part because there was suuuuuch a variety of sizes. I’d never seen such adorably teeny tiny snails. You really, really had to study the ground closely to see them. And they’d be right there alongside these behemoths 50x their size. Plus they’re so slow and chill that it’s hard to be creeped out by them. And they’re like little aliens!

Throw down ground up egg shells, it cuts them to ribbons. You can also push a pie tin down so the rim is flush with the ground and poor a can of shitty beer in the.
