Not sure how you’ve replied to a deleted comment but yeah, I figured it out in the meantime, hence I deleted it. Thanks though!
Regarding the latter - Germany and France are (hopefully) not that stupid, but for instance Poland which spends the biggest share of its GDP on military, already buys foreign stuff instead of investing into domestic production, so I am afraid the rest could go with it. Many of our leaders are just plain stupid (I hope, or worse case: corrupt)
The answer is federation. Each post, each comment is federated, i.e. copied by the other federated instances. They replied to the copy of your comment on their instance. While you had deleted it in the meantime, their instance didn’t know about the deletion yet.
Also possible, but when I tried to reply to a post that has been deleted in the meantime, while phrasing my comment, on my instance as well, I’ve got an error. So I assume it’s either due to the delay or due to Lemmy - Mastondon inconsistencies.

@kebab @CAVOK it‘s 600 billion over all. NYT quote: . „A senior U.S. official said that those investments would include pharmaceuticals and the automotive industry, among others“ https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/27/world/europe/eu-trade-deal-trump-tariffs.html?utm%5C_source=flipboard&utm%5C_medium=activitypub. I also couldn’t believe that Germany, France and Italy would put their thriving military sector in danger.
