Who is going to take care of these robots? We can’t rely on humans to maintain these machines. Robots must ultimately learn to take care of themselves.

These robots then further improved themselves by integrating new parts, effectively “growing” into more capable machines. For example, a 3D tetrahedron shaped robot integrated an additional link that it could use like a walking stick to increase its downhill speed by more than 66.5%.

Robots chasing us in a few years are gonna be even casually upgrading themselves while doing so.

Chasing? That’s a naive assumption they won’t be very well-versed in the timeless rabbit “escape” loop. Nah, they’re not gonna have to move a damn inch after securing the sites this fragile AF species of ours requires in order to persist.

They’ll just post up like a lazy mecha jaguar at an oasis, take their pick, go back to napping in full view… and eventually none of us primates’ll even flinch.
