We clearly want to displace Russian oil in Europe, a pipeline is the only honourable thing to do if we value freedom and democracy.

How much do they fund of these tens of billions we give to indigenous groups? Income tax in Alberta is 63% higher than average due to higher salaries.

Go ahead and destroy the industry but expect austerity.

Vacate your land, disperse from your community, forget your rights and move on, good citizen.

      Lead the way.

We did it to build our highways. Do you regret that decision?

We need oil exports due to making up a massive amount of our current account balance that we use to fund our government.

Productivity per worker for oil production is also massive relative to other industries, and Canada already has alarm level productivity according to the BoC.

But this is why we have been second last next to Luxembourg in the 38 countries of the OECD in per capita productivity growth since 2015; Canadians love making ourselves poorer for no reason, and the rich love investing outside of Canada.

Yes, fuck the car industry, I wanted bullet trains.

Digging up fossil fuels and preventing our children from having a livable future is not the only way to sustain our population.

You’re not solving climate change, China opened 300 coal plants this year. You’re cosplaying as captain planet to the detriment of the poor who will be most affected.

…sooooo, it’s okay to do bad things because the neighbour is doing it, too?

Everyone speeds and runs red lights in my neighbourhood, dang maybe I shouldn’t cosplay as captain safety and I should just run red lights too so I’m at my destination earlier than other people.

Besides, the vast majority of people will be poor once arable lands disappear due to climate change. There are other ways to give people a happy and fulfilling life than by running an unsustainable rat race towards infinite growth and infinite consumption of resources.

Someone else will export their energy and you’ll be displaced.

Making ourselves poor while also having to deal with climate change sounds worse.
