Fun fact, if Maxwell is pardoned, she can no longer plead the 5th.

If she’s not at risk of prison for her testimony, she can be compelled to testify. If she doesn’t testify, she can be jailed indefinitely, fined, or any other punishment (within reason) the judge decides is until she gives the full, honest truth.

He’s more at risk if she is pardoned than if she isn’t.

And if she lies under oath in exchange for the pardon, what does that risk from her perspective? They either don’t catch her, and she gets away with trafficking hundreds of children to pedophiles, or they do catch her and she goes to jail for lying under oath.

Unpopular opinion, but I kinda hope he does. Not because she deserves it.

The maga base is in equal parts revolt, denial, and uncertainty due to this unforced error by Trump saying the list doesn’t exist. At least enough that many will start pretending they weren’t magas. Its hard to say who the heir of the movement will be, but its clear they will need one. A Maxwell pardon will could be the unrecoverable nail the movement needs to be unappealing to possible heirs. No one else in the GOP has the charisma or branding to start over and with the maga brand having even more of a bad taste could give progressive candidates an opening.

Sadly, I think you’re too optimistic. It’s patently obvious that the pussy-grabbing, Miss Teen USA dressing room entering traitor is a pedophile that was best friends with a pedophile to anyone who cares to look at the facts objectively. One more tiny scrap of evidence on top of the massive heap that already exists isn’t likely to change anything.

Perhaps, tho I welcome speeding up their path to irrelevance. At a minimum I hope this blunder will leave the maga movement heirs rudderless

Or it sucks enough of the wind out of MAGA that the Dems feel comfortable keeping with their " somewhat less-right than the GOP" position and we continue sliding right.

I guess we’re about to find out how much credibility a cult leader can lend to a convicted sex trafficker exonerating (without evidence) the person pardoning her.

I think he wants to float the possibility of a pardon to get a very specific kind of witness statement from her.

I think your right. Just thought I’d throw this out there.

A pardon carries an admittance of guilt. Him pardoning her directly after firing her prosecuting attorney reeks of his own admission.

Lets hope some of maga has the sense to see the obviousness of his actions over her coerced testimony.
