I love how they have such high standards and sophisticated critiques of western democracy (which of course I agree with) but then somehow this is what real democracy looks like lol. If you try to strike for better working conditions or higher pay you get murdered. Democracy!

I want to disagree on pure principle, but…
Why is Cowbee tracking your Lemmy usage? That’s just a weird thing to say.
I was in a knock-down drag-out fight in another thread after being accused of harassment for the crime of [checks notes] downvoting comments I disagreed with.
Obviously, I was a bit pissed at this characterization, so I got like a fourth of the work done today that I had planned to because I was pointlessly quarreling with morons online. If Cowbee wasn’t a fascist ghoul, it might be a legitimate if unwarranted concern - I phrase things strongly, because I have strong abstract positions, but rarely rise above the level of ‘irritated’ when arguing with people online. Mostly it’s just the time burned away that’s actually a loss, not any emotional distress.
Cowbee is one of the few accounts I’ve blocked not for their backwards views but for being an absolute terrible person to talk to. I made the mistake of trying to take them seriously and have a discussion, and I received a barrage of guilt trips, insults, and recommendations to “inform” myself by linking to chinese government propaganda. I was called a liberal, a fascist asset, a homophobe (in my first comment I made a joke about sucking Mao’s dick, which Cowbee took as confirmation that I am a fascist liberal).
On each of my comments they replied with two or more comments twice as long and then they got pissed I didn’t read them all and respond to their arguments (as if there were any).
Honestly I don’t think your strategy of posting smug gotchas will work any better. just block that asshat.

I mean, largely I wasn’t trying to ‘get through’ but emphasize that his points were not the uncontested facts he was trying to portray them as to any onlookers.
